ARHS ACT - Easter Steam Spectacular 2011 Part 2
Over Easter 2011, the Australian Railway Historical Society, ACT Division operated the Easter Steam Spectacular featuring steam locomotives 3016 from the ARHS and 3642 from the New South Wales Rail Transport Museum.
3642 and 3016 alternated on shuttles between Canberra and Queanbeyan on Saturday 23 April before double heading between Canberra and Bungendore on Sunday 24 and Monday 25 April 2011.

End of an Era! Farewell Wycheproof Broad Gauge with A² 986

On Saturday the 7th of October, Steamrail Victoria bidded farewell to the broad gauge line which currently runs to Sea Lake with a day trip to Wycheproof and return.
The tour was hauled by steam locomotive A² 986 and diesel locomotives T356 and V/Line's N472.
The A² departed Newport with a crew car and water gin very early Saturday morning and travelled via the goods only line to Sunshine before a run via Bacchus Marsh to Ballarat and Maryborough.
A couple of hours later, the two diesel locomotives hauled the remainder of the consist to Southern Cross before combining with the A² at Maryborough for the trip to Wycheproof.
After a brief stop in the main street to set down passengers the train continued to the Wycheproof Grain Silos to run around.
For the return journey, A² 986 lead the train and after a photo opportunity in the main street, the special departed for Melbourne.
