“You’re nobody unless you come here and prove it.”
It all started in 1960 when a group of Vancouver businessmen attempted to hunt for a location suitable for the Winter Olympics. Today, Whistler Blackcomb is one of the most well-known skiing and riding destinations in the world – and for a good reason. Listen to the veterans of the famous winter resort like Jim McConkey and Hugh Smythe describe the early days of steep verticals and deep powder.
Though the resort experienced abrupt financial hardship due to warm weather conditions early on, eventually, it was full speed ahead with the birth of the Whistler vs. Blackcomb rivalry. Listen to professional skiers and past mountain staff describe the battle of mountain supremacy and how Rob Boyd eventually united the community over his downhill win in 1989.
Watch some of your all-time favorite athletes reminisce over the journey to unity of the two mountains and what makes this Canadian winter resort what it is today.
This is Whistler Blackcomb.

Harmony and Symphony Express FUN - Whistler JAN 1st 2019
Whistler Blackcomb is a ski resort located in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. By many measures it is the largest ski resort in North America and has the greatest uphill lift capacity. It features the Peak 2 Peak Gondola for moving between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains at the top.
Harmony Express and Symphony Express provide one of the best terrain access by lift in North America, if anything, it looks more like European high altitude terrain.
Whistler, BC - The #BCAdventureProject
In 2010, the world was introduced to the natural beauty inherent to British Columbia. The cascading slopes of Whistler Blackcomb played host to a variety of Olympic events and continue to attract visitors from across the globe.
Resting just 125 kms north of Vancouver, Whistler is every alpine enthusiasts dream. The two full mountain ranges provide an unparalleled stretch of skiable terrain and a bevy of other outlets for your next outdoor adventure.
The Mountain
Whistler Blackcomb is the largest ski resort in North America. This means that we could spend an entire season on the slopes and still not have them conquered. The endless terrain is serviced by 37 lifts that carry you up the mountains and into the sky. The twin summits are connected by the majestic Peak2Peak Gondola. The view from up there showcases the majesty of the entire area.
The Apres
The après-ski is a culture unto its own in the Whistler village. When the sun goes down, the village comes alive. The locals offer an array of culinary options, and an ambiance to host a broad spectrum of tastes. Sometimes, we feel like cozying up to a warm fire to relive the magic of the day, and other times, we feel like paying homage to Bacchus on the dance floor in one of the village’s electric nightclubs.
Beyond the Boots
Even if skiing isn’t your thing, Whistler is still the place to get your adrenaline fix. Whistler offers everything from snowmobiling to zip lining. We all remember Jon Montgomery’s celebratory pitcher at the base of the skeleton track, otherwise known as the most Canadian moment ever. Having the chance to slide down this terrifying gauntlet gave us a new appreciation for this moment, and the chance to feel like a champion for the day.
The #BCAdventureProject is fueled by Vancouver video production company Moves Media and powered by the following partners:

Whistler Village (Tourism Whistler)
Whether you visit in winter, fall, spring or summer it's an amazing experience to come and visit Whistler BC Canada.
Many have called it their home away from home plus snow, plus mountain biking, plus kayaking, plus mountains, plus snow shoeing, plus tubing, etc. :)
In this very casual walkthrough tour video of Whistler Blackcomb Village we will pass some comforts you need (plus a few luxuries you really want).
And you'll notice in the distance the picturesque landscape which is yours to explore.
What to wear when visiting Whistler:
Where is Whistler Village Located?
The Village itself is located in the central neighborhood of the town of Whistler, located at the base of both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains.
The Village is divided into several areas - the Village, Village North and Upper Village. Not to worry, all the areas are connected by the paved, pedestrian-only Village Stroll.
The Village Pulse
If you listen closely you can hear languages from around the world. Whistler Village is where locals and visitors mingle throughout the year, coming and going from their many outdoor adventures.
There are people shopping and renting skis and bikes, kids exploring the playgrounds and plenty of people-watching opportunities from sunny patios and restaurants.
Depending upon which season you visit, there are always different and unique things to do (especially at Christmas).
There is a tangible energy that only people in a beautiful place having a wonderful time can create, and you can feel it every time you walk the Stroll.
Visiting Whistler Village is well worth your time and energy!
Thanks for watching!
