Whistler Canada Food Diary | What I ate at the peak and around
Join me virtually in eating through Whistler, British Columbia in Canada. The food was just as majestic and epic as the mountain ranges. We do all the meals here in this 4 day food diary-- breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and snacks (just as important). I had a ton of maple flavors but didn’t hate it for sure, as well as tapas, poutine, ice cream, sushi, meat pies, and more! I talk about what I loved, what I wasn’t fond of, and show you where you can get food and drinks.
Have you been to Whistler before? Comment below! This was my first time and I want to go back for the views and eats already. Thanks for watching~

Whistler, BC - The #BCAdventureProject
In 2010, the world was introduced to the natural beauty inherent to British Columbia. The cascading slopes of Whistler Blackcomb played host to a variety of Olympic events and continue to attract visitors from across the globe.
Resting just 125 kms north of Vancouver, Whistler is every alpine enthusiasts dream. The two full mountain ranges provide an unparalleled stretch of skiable terrain and a bevy of other outlets for your next outdoor adventure.
The Mountain
Whistler Blackcomb is the largest ski resort in North America. This means that we could spend an entire season on the slopes and still not have them conquered. The endless terrain is serviced by 37 lifts that carry you up the mountains and into the sky. The twin summits are connected by the majestic Peak2Peak Gondola. The view from up there showcases the majesty of the entire area.
The Apres
The après-ski is a culture unto its own in the Whistler village. When the sun goes down, the village comes alive. The locals offer an array of culinary options, and an ambiance to host a broad spectrum of tastes. Sometimes, we feel like cozying up to a warm fire to relive the magic of the day, and other times, we feel like paying homage to Bacchus on the dance floor in one of the village’s electric nightclubs.
Beyond the Boots
Even if skiing isn’t your thing, Whistler is still the place to get your adrenaline fix. Whistler offers everything from snowmobiling to zip lining. We all remember Jon Montgomery’s celebratory pitcher at the base of the skeleton track, otherwise known as the most Canadian moment ever. Having the chance to slide down this terrifying gauntlet gave us a new appreciation for this moment, and the chance to feel like a champion for the day.
The #BCAdventureProject is fueled by Vancouver video production company Moves Media and powered by the following partners:
Whistler Blackcomb – North Americas Largest Ski Resort
Tourism Whistler – Stay longer and save more with Stay & Ski Packages
Comor Sports – BC’s best ski, snowboard, and bike shops
SnowBus – Love the Ride
Follow @movesmedia on Instagram for updates on their next #BCAdventureProject adventure.
CHRISTMAS DAY AT WHISTLER 2017
CHRISTMAS DAY AT WHISTLER 2017
To continue our Christmas adventures, we decided to visit little skiing town - Whistler.
It was a very nice experience as we haven't seen so much snow since our days in Montreal. There were people skiing and snowboarding everywhere, live music, fire and just merry people..
We ended our exploring day with a nice dinner at one of the restaurants.

We explored Whistler's Cheap Hotel and Restaurants // Nat and Max
Whistler, Canada can be expensive and tough to enjoy if you're on a budget. We'll be showing you cheap hotel and restaurants around the Whistler Village. We started off on how to save on transit. It is ideal to take the transit when coming to Whistler, BC because it would save you gas and parking money. It's only 2 hours from downtown Vancouver and it only costed us $35 per person for a roundtrip ticket. For accommodation, we stayed at the Pangea Pod Hotel. The Pangea Pod Hotel was Canada's first ever pod/capsule hotel. Most of the time people come to Whistler just to ski and party and a shared living space like this would cut the hotel expenses so you can enjoy Whistler more. A couple of the cheapest restaurants around the village are El Furniture Warehouse and The Old Spaghetti Factory. El Furniture Warehouse offers $5.95 meal all day every day! While The Old Spaghetti Factory would give you the most for you your money because of their all inclusive menu. While we were up in Whistler, BC were were also able to watch the Luge World Cup. The winners would be representing their countries in the 2022 Winter Olympics. Hope these budget tips will let you enjoy Whistler even more! Enjoy the Video!

Whistler Ice fishing tours a Canadian Winter Experience
Whistler is a magical place during the Winter months. In every direction there are jagged white mountains that erupt from a lush green forest below. Most lakes are crystal clear and the ones that are not have the hint of glacial sediment. The glacial sediment gives the lakes a greeny blue color, that is unique to this area. Through the Winter months the lakes remain well oxygenated and plant life is abundant. The plant life harbors a ton of Aquatic life that includes freshwater shrimp, damsel nymphs, water boatmen and dragonfly nymphs. This aquatic life is a great source of protein and a staple food source throughout the Winter months.
While most Trout eat aquatic insects, their absolute favorite food is other fish. This becomes more evident as fish grow larger. Trout start out eating aquatic insects and as their mass increases, so does their food intake. So, if you are looking to catch large Trout you have to present them what they are looking for and one Company does this better than the rest, Rapala. Recently we have started using both the Rapala Jigging Rap and the Rapala Snap Rap. At points, I have looked down my Ice hole to see 4 or 5 large Trout trying to get these hooks at the same time. Talk about exciting! The movement of these Rapala Jigs are so erratic that they need to be slowed down to allow the Fish to catch them. It can be comical watching Trout try to catch them, yet nerve-wracking. You don't want to stop what you were doing because, that is why the fish is there in the first place and as soon as you change, the fish is gone.
There are plenty of quality lakes for Ice Fishing within a 30 minute drive of Whistler, BC. Fish Range in size from 12 - 30 and can weigh as much as 12 LBS depending on lake. It all comes down to what they are eating and what the food source is. If you want to catch quality over quantity, we have a few lakes that are a bit further of a drive and we recommend that you book a full day Ice fishing trip.
We still catch big fish on our half day ice fishing trips but to catch a monster, typically you will need to put the time in. Some people are fish magnets and some people respond well to our instructions. Typically we catch fish each and every tour, please keep in mind that we take a lot of people that have never fished before in their life. Yet they too will reel in their very first fish. Ice fishing is great for first time fisher persons. While the Ice hut is set up it blacks out the light from above. The light now comes from below the ice surface, this allows you to see fish eating your hook. Typically, as long as you keep the line tight, you will land your fish.
Ice fishing guides in Whistler BC
Our Professional Ice Fishing guides will walk you through the process of catching fish and will be by your side the whole time. First and foremost your safety is the most important thing to us. It is amazing how comfortable our ice huts are during those cold Winter days. Ice huts are equipped with portable propane heaters to take the chill out of the equation. On our full day Ice fishing tours we will bring the BBQ along and cook your fresh catch. Yummy!
There are not a ton of places in the World that have what Whistler has to offer during the Winter Months. This makes it very attractive for Families, Friends and Colleagues. While Ice fishing may not be a desired sport for a person in your group, Whistler will have something to offer them while you enjoy the day of Ice fishing. We have found Ice fishing to be a great activity for staff parties, bachelor parties and Corporate Team-Building events. Our Ice fishing tours are set in some of the most spectacular setting and the fishing is fantastic.
Visit our website for rates and more information about Ice Fishing in Whistler, BC Canada.
