I know it's not really what you'd expect when you first think of whistler, the snow skiing capital of the world. But what's happened over the last few years is that everyone’s started to realise that what's on offer here in summer is just as good if not maybe better then their winter wonderland.
We’ve arrived in Canada with Scenic and Whistler is first on the list. It's now claimed a reputation as a year round adventure town. If you’re not mountain biking or hiking you’re probably just absorbing Whistlers incredible scenery.
One of the best ways to take it all in is also one of your Scenic Freechoice activities.
David: “What do you find most of the visitors really love when they get up here?”
Pilot: “They really enjoy, they get awestruck by the vastness of the mountains and the fact that it appears to go on forever. Some of those heights of the peaks you can’t appreciate until your at 7500 feet and looking down on a village”
This mountain range has been in the making for over a hundred million years
and seeing it from up here puts it all in perspective. You’d think flying over all this incredible countryside is the highlight and then they land you here on a glacier, literally on top of the world.
The ‘Peak 2 Peak’ is one of whistlers’s main attractions it's the longest and highest unsupported cablecar span in the world and was built to connect Blackcomb and Whistler Mountain. The ‘Peak 2 Peak’ is adventurous enough you know to get the heart pumping and let you know you’re alive but it's not too crazy up here to make you freak out.
If heights aren’t really your thing though, summer brings on a whole other element as the river starts to run wild and Scenic try their very best to get you wet.
The jet boating trip climbs the glacial river to the base of the Nairn falls, so if it’s adventure you're after…strap yourself in.
Of course with all this action you'll need some very comfortable to unwind and the Fairmont Chateau Whistler is exclusive to Scenic.
The food scene here is quite impressive, your specialised tasting tour visits the barefoot bistro, a favourite to try some of the more unique dining experiences, like the world's coldest vodka tasting room.

Summer 2017- Whistler Vlog: A Trip to Canada from My Perspective
In August of 2017 I traveled to Whistler, Canada with my family. It was an amazing trip that I wanted to share with the rest of you. So here is Whistler from my perspective.
For anyone interested in traveling to Whistler, I would highly recommend it. The place is beautiful in both the summer and winter.

Centuries before the occasional trapper or logger built a cozy cabin in the nineteenth century, the Squamish and Lil'wat First Nations used the secluded Whistler valley for hunting and gathering. It wasn't until 1914 that Alex and Myrtle Philip opened Rainbow Lodge, a fishing and holiday camp. Later that year, the Great Pacific Northwestern railway pushed through the valley en route to Prince George.
Located 140 kilometres north of Vancouver, today, some consider Whistler a global village; a small mountain community with an international feel.
