Skiing White Grizzly Cat Skiing Part 1 Feb 2014
In February 2014, I joined eleven friends for a week at White Grizzly Cat Skiing, Meadow Creek, British Columbia. The skiing was fantastic. Conditions were ideal with over two meters of snow in the previous week and more each of the first five days we were there. Skiing was for experts only -- steep, treed runs. A blast! These are videos of the first several days. Also, don't miss my videos of the resorts along B.C.'s Powder Highway as I drove up to White Grizzly.

SWS Video
This is the place where Snowcat skiing was pioneered back in 1975 by Allan and Brenda Drury. Situated in the south east corner of British Columbia, 1 1/2 hours north of Nelson in the small community of Meadow Creek, BC.
The Freeride Media crew had the opportunity to enjoy a few days at this monumental cat skiing operation.
The Kootenays are a place rich in history and landscape. You're far away from the modern bustle and time moves a little slower, the snow falls a little deeper and people are that much friendlier.
Each Sunday twenty-four guests are taken by snowcat to Selkirk Wilderness Skiing's beautiful lodge situated at 1280m (4200 feet). Over the next five days guests are transported in comfort to the surrounding peaks to sample spectacular open bowls, glades and challenging chutes. Their network of snowcat roads provides skiing within an area of 30 square miles with runs up to 4000 vertical feet
Throw all of this together: the terrain, the snow, their rich history and their fantastic staff and you have a culture that has attracted skiers here year after year.
