Kanchenjunga is the world's third highest mountain peak and holds great religious importance for the local communities. The Tashi View Point is located about 8 km from Gangtok on the North Sikkim Highway. The journey to this point is as beautiful as the destination itself, which is flocked by people for some of the best views of Kanchenjunga.
The Tashi View point offers the best views of Kanchenjunga on a clear day. At sunset, the sight becomes awe-inspiring as the setting of the sun causes the white snow on the peaks to change colors.

Journey To Darjeeling And Gangtok Hill Station #journey #Darjeeling #Gangtok #India #incredibleIndia
Darjeeling is a town in India's West Bengal state, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resort for the British Raj elite, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or “Toy Train,” completed in 1881. It's famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes. Its backdrop is Mt. Kanchenjunga, among the world’s highest peaks.
Gangtok is the capital of the mountainous northern Indian state of Sikkim. Established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the 1840s, the city became capital of an independent monarchy after British rule ended, but joined India in 1975. Today, it remains a Tibetan Buddhist center and a base for hikers organizing permits and transport for treks through Sikkim’s Himalayan mountain ranges.
This video is uploaded by ArtByLens.Com. This is about the beautiful hill stations where one should visit.

Hanuman Tok is situated approximately 5 km rising from White Hall on a bifurcating road of the Gangtok--Nathula highway. And it is 11 km away from Gangtok town. The height of this point is roughly 7,200 ft. From the top of this hillock, once can get wonderful view of Gangtok town and the nearby hills. It is a temple dedicated to lord Hanuman.
This temple has been managed by a division of the Indian Army and can be observed to be completely neat and clean. Nearby this spot, the royal cremation grounds of Lukshyama is located, where the mortal remains of the members of the former Namgyal dynasty were confined to the flame.

Natures Paradise - Gangtok / Sikkim
Gangtok
Gangtok is the capital of Sikkim. It is an incomparable hill resort of northeast regions of India and it is doubtlessly one of the most frequently visited places in India. Gangtok is situated on the ridge of a hillock at an altitude of 1,700 metre.
It is very widely known and esteemed for its scenic beauty and striking views of the mount Kanchenjunga, 3rd highest peak in the world. The hill resort is about 110 km from Siliguri and it is very well linked with other important places of this region.
With various cultures and religions thriving in perfect concord, Gangtok has proved that 'unity in diversity' exists in Sikkim. Sikkimeses possess firm bonding with their antique customs and traditions. Gangtok is emphatically not behind the rest of the places in the world in terms of modernization and urbanization. The town has broad roads, discothèques, educational institutes, fast-food centres, flyovers, posh markets, state-of-art hospital, and all other advanced and modern comforts that the heart can want for.
The important destinations present around Gangtok are Darjeeling (94 km), Dzongri, Kalimpong (80 km), Nathula (56 km), Pelling (125 km), Ravangla, Siliguri (110 km), Yuksom, and Yumthang.

Tashi view point/Flower exhibition center/Gangtok sikkim india/Gangtok Tour 2018 Part 07
Tashi View Point Gangtok
It's located in Tashi and about 8kms from the Gangtok town. It offers a sweeping view of Kanchenjunga snow peaks on a clear day. In fact the view of sunrise from here is unforgettable, you will see the peaks dazzling with changing colors. But for that you must reach the point before 5am.
In the opposite mountains, you can see the Phodong and Labrang monasteries. From the road level you need to climb steep flights of stairs to reach up to the circular viewing area. It can easily accommodate about 15-20 persons.
There is no admission fee. However you can pay Rs. 10/- to get closer view of the peaks through a binocular and telescope mounted here. The forests in the opposite mountains look so close that I spent some good 10 minutes hunting for some wild animals through the binocular.
There is a resting shed here as well as a shop offering tea, coffee, snacks as well as gift & souvenir items. Prices are reasonable.
How to reach :--
Tashi View Point is covered under standard local tours offered by the taxi drivers. It's about 8kms from Gangtok town and near Bakthang Waterfall. You can take a taxi and come here.
Ridge Park & Flower Exhibition Center
The Ridge is a flat wonderful stretch of road just above the Gangtok Town. It would be about 20 minutes walk from MG Marg main market. The Ridge is flanked on one side by the White Hall as well as the Chief Minister's Residence, and on the other side by a wonderful gate with pagoda like top.
The White Hall is a two storey building of British architecture built in 1932 in memory of the first British Political Officer Sir James Claude White. It once used to be a venue of important functions, but today it lies more as a historical building with not much activities.
The Ridge Park runs along The Ridge road and is full of flowering plants and shrubs. There is a traditional Sikkimeses style Gazebo here where visitors can rest and soak in the ambience around. There are benches as well in the park.
At one end and below the Ridge Park is the Flower Exhibition Center which holds the annual Orchid show. Inside the area is not very large but it has amazing collections of flowers of many different types, If you are a flower lover, then this is the place for you. But the best time is between March to June when the Orchids are in full bloom and put on display.
Some flowers that I noted includes Blue Venda Orchids, Celosia, Chrysanthemum, Paps etc. In fact all sections and flowering plants are labeled so that you know which is what. There is a small footbridge over an artificial baby pool that you can walk across. The place is ideal for great photography amongst colorful flowers and shrubs.
Admission & Hours
There is no admission fee for Ridge Park. However admission fee for Flower Exhibition Center is Rs. 10/- per person. It's open from 8:30am till 5pm daily. This place is part of most standard local sightseeing tours in Gangtok. You can also walk (about 20 minutes) from town center.

Gangtok tour with places | Gangtok tour guide | Sikkim-Where nature smile's | Part-2
Gangtok- Gangtok (/ˈɡæŋtɒk/ (listen)) is a city, municipality, the capital and the largest town of the Indian state of Sikkim. It also is the headquarters of the East Sikkim district. Gangtok is in the eastern Himalayan range, at an elevation of 1,650 m (5,410 ft). The town's population of 100,000 are from different ethnicities such as Bhutia, Lepchasand Nepalis. Within the higher peaks of the Himalaya and with a year-round mild temperateclimate, Gangtok is at the centre of Sikkim's tourism industry.
Mg marg- This place is a 'must visit' because without it a visit to Gangtok is really incomplete. 'Marg' in Hindi means 'Road'. So MG Marg means MG Road ... all Indians will know that always an important road (if not the most important road) in any city or township in India would be named as Mahatma Gandhi Road or MG Road. Gangtok is no exception and this is the town center of the hill town.
Bakhthang water falls- This is a wonderful waterfall located on the North Sikkim Highway towards Tashi View Point and about 3kms from Gangtok town. While visiting Tashi View point or returning, it's worth stopping at this roadside waterfall for sometime. While the height of the fall isn't much, it's the width of the fall that makes it so beautiful. The source of the water is at Ratey Chu. The flowing water falls over a canopy of green creepers. It's a wonderful sight to take pictures
Ganesh Tok- Close to Tashi View point is Ganesh Tok, a temple of Lord Gansha. It's located at an altitude of 6,500 ft and at a hill adjacent to that of the huge TV Tower. Like Hanuman Tok, tourists come here not only to offer prayers to Ganesh, but also to soak in the views from the viewing lounge and the circular balcony around it.
Gangtok flower exhibition Center- Flower Exhibition Centre, which is situated in Gangtok, showcases flowers from the different parts of Sikkim together under a single roof which makes it a heaven for all the nature lovers. Located right across the White Memorial Hall and below the Ridge Park, it lies at a walking distance from the MG Marg. Though the flowers are displayed here all through the year, the annual flower show which is held from April to May should not be missed out on as during this time, the management gathers here and presents numerous varieties of orchids along with other flowers from around the state. Participants from the neighbouring states are invited to be a part of the annual flower contest held in the premises by the Government of Sikkim.
