This video was taken during our Winter getaway holiday in St. Kitts, January 2014.
One of the best snorkeling sites is off White House Beach on the South side of the island.
The best part of the beach is the South end. Look for a rock protruding out of the water and head out in that direction.
Lots of fish species to be seen and there is a wreck quite close to the shore is about 10 feet of water.

Small Grants Programme St. Kitts and Nevis & IWECO Coral Reef Excursion
Over seventy-five (75) persons from the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis embarked on a Coral Reef Excursion Trip to Shitten’s Bay and White House Bay on the South East Peninsular on Saturday, July 28 as part of an awareness raising activity for the sustainable use of natural resources.
The tour, which was sponsored by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP), allowed students, researchers, teachers and members of environmentally conscious groups and organizations to actively participate in the first ever activity of this nature.
“This coral reef excursion is part of a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)/United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Project, called Integrating Water, Land and Ecosystems Management (IWECO) in Caribbean Small Island Developing States,” explained Ilis Watts, National Coordinator of the GEF SGP in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Ok, so I have to confess that I really had no idea St. Kitts even existed until I took this cruise. Let me just tell you that St. Kitts is highly under-rated. It has so much to offer!. The landscape and lush green mountains are unreal. I didn't even get to see Nevis but the Island was beautiful.
St. Kitts is famous for it's Green Monkeys. Originally brought over during the 17th and 18th centuries as pets by the British and French. Then set free into the jungles. Unfortunately the relationship between humans and monkeys on the island is not so great. The monkeys are kind of a nuisance and get into everything.
Personally I loved the monkeys and got my photo taken with one. He was so tame and friendly. Yeah I know someone is going to throw some hateful comments about animal rights while petting their dog on their lap but whatever.

saint Kitts is the country consists of two main islands , saint Kitts and Nevis. the highest peak, at 1,156 meters, is mount liamuiga on st.Kitts. the islands are of volcanic origin, with large central peaks covered in tropical rain forest ; the steeper slopes leading to these peaks are mostly uninhabited.

The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is an island nation in the Caribbean comprised of the islands of St Kitts and Nevis. It is part of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles of the Eastern Caribbean. St Kitts is also known as St Christopher. Nevis was originally named “Nuestra Señora de las Nieves” in Spanish which translates to “Our Lady of the Snows”. This refers to the white clouds that seem to permanently hover over Nevis Peak (the highest point on Nevis island). The Spanish name was eventually shortened to Nevis.
St Kitts and Nevis is known for its volcanic terrain, shimmering blue waters, lush greenery, and beautiful beaches. It also displays picturesque views of both the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Mount Liamuiga and Nevis Peak are the highest peaks on the islands of St Kitts and Nevis respectively.

The capital of St Kitts and Nevis is Basseterre, located on the larger island of St Kitts. Basseterre is a French word which translates to low land in English.
Points of interest in St Kitts include the National Museum of St Kitts (old Treasury Building), Port Zante, Government Headquarters, Independence Square, The War Memorial, Government House, Berkeley Memorial, The Circus (inspired by Piccadilly Circus in London), Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), and the Brimstone Hill Fortress. Phenomenal views of St Kitts and Nevis can be seen from the Timothy Hill Overlook.
The headquarters of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is located in Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis. The ECCB is the central bank of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) which share the Eastern Caribbean Dollar.
