Beaver Hike Tiny Bog Trail, White Lake Provincial Park, White River Ontario
The Tiny Bog Trail runs for 4.5 km along a pond and through a jackpine forest in White Lake Provincial Park, a natural wilderness park located on Highway 17 near White River, Ontario, Canada. The slide show features beaver-gnawed trees, a beaver lodge, moss-covered jackpines, and pitcher plants. 'Native Funk', performed by Burning Sky, creates a lively accompaniment. Quotes by Robert Frost and Ralph Waldo Emerson create philosophical 'bookends'.

Aerial View of White Lake July 2018
White Lake, once known as Inglesby Lake, is near Erinsville, Ontario, Canada. This aerial view shows an interesting perspective to this shallow lake. The lake bottom, largely marl (a combination of clay and limestone), appears to glow green in the sunlight. The intensity of the colour increases with temperature...and this day it was over 30 degrees C.
This drone video was filmed using a DJI Phantom 3 Standard, equipped with a CPL filter. A DonDronesOn production.

Regional Power and Pic Mobert First Nation - White River (Gitchi Animki) Hydroelectric Project
The Gitchi Animki (White River) project was undertaken by the Pic Mobert Hydro Power Joint Venture, a partnership of subsidiary companies of the Pic Mobert First Nation and Regional Power Inc. The Gitchi Animki Hydroelectric Project consists of two waterpower generating stations with a combined generating capacity of 18.9 MW, Gitchi Animki Bezhig and Gitchi Animki Niizh.
The development is located in the traditional territory of the Netamasakomik People of the Pic Mobert First Nation, and was one of the first contracted under the Ontario Power Authority’s Feed-in Tariff (FIT) Program. The development is also located in a provincial park which has led to close cooperation with Ontario Parks on various recreational initiatives.
The facilities will replace the function of an old Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry regulating dam that managed lake levels and flood flows on White Lake. The developments will provide a much improved alternative to the existing regulating dam which was deemed by independent consultants to be in need of significant and costly repairs. Three Pic Mobert community members have been hired and are being trained as operators of the facilities.
