White Point Cape Breton Nova Scotia
Just off of the Cabot trail near Neil's Harbour, White Point is a wonderful short hike to a graveyard for the shipwrecked on a lonely point of rocks. Just off of the point is White Point Island which is a rookery for many local seabirds, not all of whom will appreciate your presence. There is a small parking lot just past the 'Two Tittle B & B', From the paved road going to the harbor, make a right onto the dirt road and travel just a few yards to the parking lot. Expect to spend at least an hour exploring.

Cape Breton Scenic Route: Neils Harbour, White Point
If the beautiful Cabot Trail isn't scenic enough for you, take this scenic alternative near the north end of Cape Breton Island. The scenic loop passes through Neils Harbour and White Point, before returning to the Cabot Trail

I made this trip in early October, 2016. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera, mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).

Hiking Skyline Trail | Cape Breton Highlands National Park | NS | Best Hiking in Eastern Canada
In this video we are hiking one of the most famous trails in Nova Scotia - the Skyline Trail. This hike is located in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, in Nova Scotia, Canada.
The trail is accessed from the famous Cabot Trail, just past the Cheticamp Campground.
The hike isn't too long, although it will take a few hours there and back. If you're lucky, you'll see some moose in addition to the great ocean views at the end!

Exploring Cape Breton - Gull Cove Trail, Gabarus 2018
This 10.5 km out-and-back trail was once a cart path leaving from the village of Gabarus heading to the original settlement of Gull Cove. The Gull Cove Trail is relatively flat for the first few kilometers, then hugs the coast, winding through windswept woods, cobbled beaches and coastal barrens. It continues on past the abandoned settlement (keep an eye out for the abandoned foundations), rising to a spectacular drumlin bluff at Cape Gabarus.
Possible wildlife: shorebirds, seals, fox, coyote, rabbits.
My name is Allan MacEachern, along with my wife Stacey, we hiked this trail on a beautiful September day in 2018. If you get a chance to go, you won't regret the scenery!

Northern Gannets off of White Point, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
White Point, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Northern gannets fishing days before leaving on their southward migration. There were thousands of them right close to shore. Watch closely and you can see a gray seal bobbing about ! I was using my Nikon D810 and my Nikon 500mm prime F4 VR 2 ED lens.
Cape Breton Island - CABOT TRAIL, Nova Scotia, Canada
Our visit to Cape Breton Island - Cabot Trail on Canada Day. It was an unforgettable experience. Visited Chéticamp, NS.
The island measures 10,311 square kilometres (3,981 sq mi) in area, making it the 77th largest island in the world and Canada's 18th largest island. Cape Breton Island is composed mainly of rocky shores, rolling farmland, glacial valleys, barren headlands, mountains, woods and plateaus. Geological evidence suggests that at least part of the island was originally joined with present-day Scotland and Norway, now separated by millions of years of continental drift.

Hiking Trails of Cape Breton - Money Point
If you wish to walk to the end of the Earth, then head for Money Point. Starting from the community of Bay St. Lawrence, this route follows the remains of the road to the navigation beacon at Money Point, very nearly the extreme northern tip of Cape Breton Island.
This route will be detailed in Hiking Trails of Nova Scotia, 9th edition.
The Seawall Trail AGAIN! - Meat Cove to Polletts Cove, Cape Breton Island
Yup, you read that right - we hiked the proposed route of the Seawall Trail yet again! And what a trek it was.
Five days of mountain climbing, river crossing, bushwhacking, whiskey sipping, and camping under the stars fun.
We could not have asked for better weather or a better crew to experience this adventure with and we are still buzzing with the adrenaline from it all. Simply incredible.
It’ll be a hike people will travel from all over to experience.
REMINDER/BEWARE:
This trail has not been developed and we do not recommend doing it without experience, a guide, or until the trail is actually created. ..unless you love bushwhacking in the middle of no where without service!
