Brocken | Wither in Denial | Live at White Rabbit Club Freiburg
In the German language, the word BROCKEN does not just mean a piece or part of something, but moreover a very heavy and intense part of something. A more fitting name could not have been chosen for this band. With a musical style that consists of Doom, Stoner, Old-school Death and Black Metal, BROCKEN emulates the sounds of the scene’s mainstays such as Electric Wizard, Monolord, Dismember and Darkthrone while carving their own path thanks to Alpha’s refined guitar work.
The band was originally formed in the Summer of 2017 by Alpha and Pedro, one of Freiburg’s most prolific Stoner drummers. Flow soon joined them on the bass, and after a long period of searching they finally found Pablo, an exceptional singer who would compliment their sound with thriving and energized vocals.
These four musicians have been around the block more than once, and have honed their creativity with years of experience in other projects. Pablo sings in Aeon Crypt and was vocalist in The Privateer, Flow plays bass for Sound of Smoke, Alpha is actively part of Zim Zum Crash and Desert Tree House, Pedro completes the other half of Desert Tree House while also drumming for Heavy Water Cult and Deaf Proof.
Simply put, BROCKEN delivers. Raw drums, head-buzzing bass sounds, phenomenal guitar and excellent vocals complete an ensemble that is certainly worth giving a listen to. With BROCKEN, a truly intense part of the music world awaits.
