Free the beer
Microbreweries like Penticton’s Bad Tattoo Brewing are great examples of local businesses that create jobs and help build their communities.
Unfortunately, they can’t sell their products outside of B.C. because of outdated laws and interprovincial trade barriers.
Canada’s Conservatives are fighting to free the beer so that businesses can sell their products across the country. It just makes sense. Cheers!
Is Langley... BC's Next Craft Beer Boomtown?
2019 is poised to be a VERY BIG year for craft beer fans in my home town of Langley, British Columbia. There are four new craft breweries opening up this year and all of them are currently under construction.
Join me as I drive to each of them and spend some time with brewery owners and brewmasters who graciously took some time to show me around and paint a picture of what their breweries will look like on opening day.

A Documentary About Beer - A Whole Brew World - St. Pete Brewing Company
This is a quick summary of our interview with Jon McCracken at St. Pete Brewing Company. He talked with us about what it's like being a brewer, going into business for yourself, and making something that you can enjoy yourself. This is just a taste (see what i did there) of our interview with him. The rest will be in the feature length film that we're currently working on. Stay tuned for more conversations with brewers about beer!

Pretty Girl was inspired by my experiences growing up on social media and being constantly judged and underestimated based on the superficial, which is something I think a lot of girls are going through right now.
Being on the set of Pretty Girl with all of the amazing girls was so much fun, just hanging out and getting into trouble. We had a good time and I think it shows, especially in the shots outside where we got to be a bit sassier.

I can swear, I can joke
I say what's on my mind
If I drink, if I smoke
I keep up with the guys
And you'll see me holding up my middle finger to the world
Fuck your ribbons and your pearls
'Cause I'm not just a pretty girl
I'm more than just a picture
I'm a daughter and a sister
Sometimes it's hard for me to show
That I'm more than just a rumor
Or a song on your computer
There's more to me than people know
Somedays I'm broke, somedays I'm rich
Somedays I'm nice, somedays I can be a bitch
Somedays I'm strong, somedays I quit
I don't let it show, but I've been through some shit
I can swear, I can joke
I say what's on my mind
If I drink, if I smoke
I keep up with the guys
And you'll see me holding up my middle finger to the world
Fuck your ribbons and your pearls
'Cause I'm not just a pretty girl
I'm more than just a number
I'm a hater, I'm a lover
Sometimes it's hard for me to show
That I'm more than just a title
Or a comment going viral
There's more to me than people know
Somedays I'm broke, somedays I'm rich
Somedays I'm nice, somedays I can be a bitch
Somedays I'm strong, somedays I quit
I don't let it show, but I've been through some shit

If I drink, if I smoke
I keep up with the guys
And you'll see me holding up my middle finger to the world
Fuck your ribbons and your pearls
'Cause I'm not just a pretty girl, I'm not just a pretty girl, yeah
I'm not just a pretty girl, no I'm not just a pretty girl
I can swear, I can joke
I say what's on my mind
If I drink, if I smoke
I keep up with the guys
And you'll see me holding up my middle finger to the world

EXPO – Magic of the White City (Narrated by Gene Wilder)
Narrated by Gene Wilder, EXPO – Magic of the White City brings the Chicago World’s Fair to life. Experience the world of 1893 through a cinematic visit to Chicago’s Columbian Exposition.
Subscribe for more great documentaries!
Nearly 28 million people visited the Fair. Dubbed the “White City,” it inspired future innovators like Henry Ford and Frank Lloyd Wright, unveiled the Ferris Wheel and Cracker Jack®, and, in many ways, marked the beginning of the 20th century. Many of the era’s greatest achievements in science, technology and culture were unveiled there. The grounds were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famous for his design of New York City’s Central Park, and constructed under the supervision of Daniel Burnham.
The Fair was an engineering marvel. On opening day, President Grover Cleveland depressed a golden telegraph key which sent the first courses of electricity throughout the Fair powering fountains, machines, electric railways and thousands of lights. It was the first use of electricity on such a massive scale.
In addition, fairgoers enjoyed the Midway Plaisance where a one-mile boulevard of fun offered camel riding and guilty pleasures such as belly dancing, street fighting and beer drinking. Against the backdrop of 1893’s troubles with workers’ rights, prejudice, discrimination and corruption, the World’s Columbian Exposition cast a brief ray of hope for the future of humanity.
Filmed in spectacular High-Definition, EXPO – Magic of the White City immerses viewers in one of the world’s biggest extravaganzas and one of the most unforgettable events in American history. There will never be another event like it… or will there?

Why Are 96,000,000 Black Balls on This Reservoir?
I took a boat through 96 million black plastic balls on the Los Angeles reservoir to find out why they're there. The first time I heard about shade balls the claim was they reduce evaporation. But it turns out this isn't the reason they were introduced.
Huge thanks to LADWP for arranging this special tour for me. Next time let's put the GoPro on the submersible!
The balls are made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) which is less dense than water so they float on the surface of the reservoir even if they break apart. They are 10cm (4 inches) in diameter and contain about 210ml of water. So the main reason they are on the reservoir is to block sunlight from entering the water and triggering a chemical reaction that turns harmless bromide into carcinogenic bromate. This effect occurs with prolonged exposure to bromate so regulators insist that levels be kept below 10 microgram per liter on average over a 12 month period.

PEI Brewing - 8 Cord DIPA - Craft Beer Review
Trying out this 1st beer above 6.5% ABV in Prince Edward Island. PEI had this crazy rule that local breweries and distilleries could not make high alcohol beverages, but yet restaurants could IMPORT AS THEY PLEASED.
SO LOCAL PEI BREWING COMPANY released this Double IPA. 8.5% ABV which is only available on the island for now. You may be able to find it on tap at Bar Stillwell in Halifax.
Appearance: Nice light amber with orange tint to it. Familiar to DIPA. Nice white soapy head.
Aroma: Nice citrus & pine, I'm getting more pine.
Flavour: Sharp hop bitterness that is persistent throughout the taste. Malt sweetness at the end to balance this out, but there is a bite. It doesn't pucker up your mouth, gives you a nice drinking beer.
Mouthfeel: Moderate mouthfeel, not overly carbonated. smooth finish (I did drink this at cooler temps). Moderate dryness.
Overall: I think this fits in with the other DIAP in the area like Garrison Imperial IPA or Boxing Rock Vicars Cross.
