BEST HIKE IN THE WORLD TO PUT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST
370 hectare Duncan’s Cove Nature Reserve is a coastal headland which extends to nearby Chebucto Head. The astonishingly beautiful coastal barrens give way to rugged granite cliffs, pounded by the vast Atlantic Ocean surf.Late in summer is an ideal time to do this hike, as it is warmer and drier than the rest of the year. The cool ocean breeze can make temperatures significantly lower than the mainland. In spring and summer it takes on lots of colour as the green grass, flowers and blueberry bushes stretch as far as the eye can see. This large area of protected land and vast ocean view will have you struck by the scale of your surroundings any time of year.
Daylilies, Courtyard, Outdoor Oasis |Jeff & Skottie |Central Texas Gardener
Jeff Breitenstein and Skottie O’Mahony’s Tanglewild Garden’s a state of mind as much as a design, botanical, and daylily hybridizing adventure. After trading Seattle for Austin, they renovated a 1970s house and bland setting into a Moroccan-styled courtyard, moon garden, and intimate outdoor living framed by leafy and colorful plants. Members of the Austin Daylily Society and an American Daylily Society official display garden, discover how they propagate and grow over 1000 cultivars of drought-hardy, edible daylilies. Deeply inspired by plants and global experiences with Jeff, Skottie’s taken his imaginative digital art online as custom-designed SkotoArt.
Balancing rock, Long Island, Nova Scotia.
The Balancing Rock in St. Mary's Bay on Long Island, Nova Scotia seems to defy gravity as it stands on its end at the edge of the rock below - it's an interesting aspect of the rugged coastal geology of the area.
Geologists believe the Rock has stood like this for thousands, or possible millions of years. The 9 metre high basalt rock is just one of the formations to be found along St. Mary's Bay, but it is definitely the most precariously positioned.
Stanley Basin Hike
Our hike into Stanley Basin beneath Stanley Glacier in Kootenay National Park in Canada. The hike was part of Kosher Expeditions Canadian Rockies Adventure. We were there on August 6, 2010. The tour was led by White Mountain Adventures. Background music by Bill Cushman, used with permission.
The forest was full of wildflowers and new tree growth as it recovered from a fire which had previously burned there.

Admiral Lake Loop - Musquodoboit Trails
We hiked the Admiral Lake Loop on April 28th 2013 which is just off the Musquodoboit Rails to trail. This backcountry loop offers a strenuous hike, with several steep climbs and panoramic viewpoints. The main look-offs are Skull Rock, Rolling Rock (so named for the huge boulder perched precariously on its top) and Harbour lookoff offering spectacular views over ocean, village, harbour, inlet and coast as far as Lawrencetown to the south. Another feature of the trail is a talus cave where a large rock has fallen from a cliff, leaving a natural archway. At the half-way point to enjoy a 180 degree panorama over the White Lake Wilderness area, and island-studded Admiral Lake.

Landscape Photography Chasing Waterfalls Part 2
During my recent trip to Baxter State Park, I spent one of my days chasing three of it's most iconic waterfalls, the Little and Big Niagara and the Katadhin Stream Falls. I got a little wet, and battle some harsh lighting, but overall it was a great day of trekking, hiking, and most importantly some great photography. Stay tuned for part 3 of this series coming very soon. Take care and be blessed!
