Hiking White Rock Spring Mountain, Ipswich | Hikes With Kids
White Rock Spring Mountain Hikes
Nestled on the east coast of Australia, White Rock Spring Mountain Conservation Estate is a 2500-hectare natural bushland reserve just 20 minutes drive from Ipswich CBD.
Even if you aren’t avid hikers or you’re just seeking a quick nature hit, there’s short circuits perfect for little legs within the reserve.
Even though the beginner trails are fairly easy and well maintained, don’t forget to bring:
Sunscreen
Hat
Drink Bottle and
Good Sensible Shoes
There’s Park Maps at the top of the trailhead to plot your trails, too.
Traversing through native gums and paper bark trees, you’ll spot Six Mile Creek Boardwalk not too far from the car park trailhead
The boardwalk will lead you to the base of the Bluff Lookout Circuit. A rock formation with just enough elevation to impress little trailblazers, this short scramble uphill takes you to a kid-sized lookout to gaze through the treetops.
Looping back to meet Six Mile Creek Track you’ll see signs to Little White Rock Lookout & Circuit Track. Take the short climb to the lookout for more tree-line views, or walk the whole circuit to spot caves and (if you’re lucky) some wildlife.
If your kids are more experienced or energetic hikers, don’t stop there – the park offers everything from a leisurely strolls to more challenging hikes, the main ones being the 6.5km White Rock Trail and 19km Yaddaman Trail.

My adventure to White Rock was inspired by a conversation that I was having with a good mate of mine and basically he was talking about how he’s been going hiking and gathering all these experiences at the cost of your own time. Immediately after having this conversation, I soon found myself on the internet looking for hiking tracks around my local area, Ipswich. This is where I came across this beautifully hidden secret of Ipswich, White Rock- Spring Mountain Conservation Estate. I saw some really nice photos online and I read some really misleading reviews. So I planned my trip out before going on my hike.
I arrived on beautiful Summer Sunday morning approximately 9:37 ish AM with no expectations. The car park was almost full literally one spot left for me and a disabled park. I was feeling good about this. Good vibes in the air. My bag’s packed with 3L of water some fruit and snacks to keep my energy levels up. Before I tackled the trails, I stopped to read the information signs provided by the Ipswich city council. Giving you a bit of background info of the conservation estate, Hiking information and basic rules to follow on entry. The trails are nice and open all the way up to White Rock. Also, there is plenty of rest areas for beginners like me. Just a random chair here and there for you to sit and share a breath of fresh air. The Stairs might be a challenge for some, but it’s so worth it when you get to the top.
Once I reached the top of the stairs, I took the unconventional left turn. Finding a secret little pathway, where I see a little cave and make a sneaky entrance to Little White Rock for an amazing view. Backtracking to the top of the stairs and taking the path to White Rock. Amazing geological features displayed by the face of White Rock on arrival. Making my way up and around White Rock to eventually reach the peak. The 360 view is amazingly breathtaking…..soak it in. There are so many engravings on top of White Rock is was actually quite fascinating. However, climbing on the rock is forbidden, ‘I think’ but, I couldn’t resist. After watching the video you’ll understand.
Wrapping it up
During my adventure to and while I was on top of the world at White Rock I made this video to share with my fellow viewers. Because, I feel in the modern day getting that spare time is gold. I hope I can inspire others to go and experience adventures like this for yourself and if not enjoy the video. Leave comments, like the video, share it, and subscribe for more videos from me. Your time is appreciated and as always,
Thanks for watching.
Getting lost on Australia's Most dangerous Hike Trails - White Rocks (Spring Mountain, Ipswich)
So i decided to go Hiking with a friend i thought knew the trail to WHITE ROCKS. Later on realising that he doesn't even know the trail to the actual mountain, getting us lost twice. Probably the most scariest experience i've had so far in 2018

White Rock
my new series is here
White Rock is part of the Spring Mountain conservation estate ..
Its near Ipswich Brisbane Australia.
White Rock is just one of the many parks that surround Brisbane's suburbs.
Try to reference school road Redbank Plains. and head that way. school road is now split in two by a new subdivision. i just headed in the direction to the bridge underpass and found it ok.
White Rock is an excellent walk if you take the Ridge trail. from the paperbark flats car park walk along the shared trail until you reach a rather large bend in the road. instead of continuing the path that leads ahead take the left route about another 50 meters ( well signposted WRRT. )
PLEASE dont climb on the white face of White Rock.
the climb to the summit however is done by every man and his dog (and i do mean Dog!) one guy had his dog up there.
Well worth the trip out there . I had a fantastic day !
Watch towards the end of my video and you will see me Rappelling a small rocky outcrop at the start of the ridge trail.
Note: This isn't an abseil training video!
Enjoy Gizmo..............

White Rock hike - Bushies Untamed
Hiking in White Rock-Spring Mountain Conservation Estate
Hike to White Rock
Join me on a mid week hike in the White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate. This area is one of my favorites and is located near Ipswich, in Queensland, Australia.
On this hike I follow the Ridge Trail to White Rock itself. It has some nice scenary and great views when the bush opens up. The panoramic views from the top of White Rock really reward the effort of getting there.
I'm also testing out a new pack, the Blackwolf Pinnacle 40 litre. A full review of the pack will be posted here soon. Along the way the Ontario SP43 gets a bit of testing when my dislike of lantana gets the better of me. I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it.

White Rock - Ipswich, Brisbane Australia :)
Love this spot so much and what makes it even more amazing is it's literally up the road from my house.
White Rock Spring Mountain Conservation - Phantom 4 drone aerials/mucking about on windy day
Traffic was crappier than usual so I took GLaDOS for a bush walk this morning.
16 months since I was here last and though I didn't climb to the top of White Rock this time (GLaDOS couldn't make it) I once again got to fly.
A bit windy as you can see but the Phantom 4 handles wind just as well as the Inspire.
Spring Day Out - Spring Mountain
Thank you to all who joined us for a beautiful afternoon filled with animals, relaxation and fun for the whole family at Spring Day Out, on Saturday 9 November from 2pm at Spring Mountain Lagoon Park.
It was a day to remember with Breathe in and Bleat out”- yoga and meditation with baby goats and lambs from Karmably, the RSPCA teaching old dogs new tricks, and Geckoes Wildlife providing up close and personal encounters with native Australian animals.
Thank you to Greenbank State School for the free community BBQ and to Ruby The Little Red Ice Cream Van for free ice cream on the day.
Spring Mountain Acreage Estate is less than 45 minutes’ drive from the centre of Brisbane.
The community is a true tree-change haven dotted with picturesque parks, tree-lined green spaces and natural waterways. A network of recreation paths heads into the surrounding national park, with more than 2500 hectares of wilderness extending around White Rock and into Ipswich. The conservation reserve is home to almost 1000 native plant and animal species and is the source for seven major waterways.
White Rock Conservation Park, Landscape photography
After climbing out of bed at 4:00 am to try to capture sunrise, I was disappointed to find that there was not a cloud in the sky, not good to capture beautiful sunrises. I decided to challenge myself in a location I have never been doing a style of photography I don't usually do. Its always good to challenge yourself.
