Lots To See In Galloway | The Bays Tour Pt3
We went to Baldoon, a site on farmland that was once RAF Wigtown, where Jenny's Dad trained as a navigator in World War 2. We visit Wigtown, a town famous for books and bought a couple, we went to Wigtown Harbour to see if we'd like bird watching. We went to The Isle of Whithorn to look at the 5 Kingdoms. We went to Whithorn to see the reconstruction of an Iron Age Roundhouse and Whithorn Priory, the site of St Ninian's tomb. Finally we went to Port William to ponder whether to stand and stare. Whew!

24 02 19 Pentecostal Holiness Church, Whithorn - Under whose Authority?
First Sunday meeting of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Whithorn, Scotland - an area that in Scotland perhaps has the lowest Church attendance.
However, God has called us to reach every creature with the Gospel, taking authority over that which binds the people.
In AD 390 Ninian came here and started a Christian College, in 2018 the Bible College moved here to the Land of the Covenanters whose Solemn League and Covenant inspired Rees Howells to found this ministry.
All this combined brings a wonderful anointing with the issue of Luke 20 being dealt with through David P Griffiths in the preaching - also Lindsay Griffiths leads worship and bring prophetic insight!
Upholding the original vision of Rees Howells in reaching every creature with the Gospel, the Gospel of the true Bible, not the Alexandrian counterfeits of the Emerging Church.

SUMMARY
=======
The Order of Canons Regular of Prémontré, also known as the Premonstratensians, the Norbertines and, in Britain and Ireland, as the White Canons (from the colour of their habit), are a religious order of Canons regular of the Catholic Church founded in Prémontré near Laon in 1120 by Norbert of Xanten, who later became Archbishop of Magdeburg. Premonstratensians are designated by O.Praem. (Ordo Praemonstratensis) following their name.
Norbert was a friend of Bernard of Clairvaux and so was largely influenced by the Cistercian ideals as to both the manner of life and the government of his order. As the Premonstratensians are not monks but Canons Regular, their work often involves preaching and the exercising of pastoral ministry; they frequently serve in parishes close to their abbeys or priories.

SUMMARY
=======
Christian monasticism is the devotional practice of individuals who live ascetic and typically cloistered lives that are dedicated to Christian worship. It began to develop early in the history of the Christian Church, modeled upon scriptural examples and ideals, including those in the Old Testament, but not mandated as an institution in the scriptures. It has come to be regulated by religious rules (e.g. the Rule of Saint Augustine, Anthony the Great, St Pachomius, the Rule of St Basil, the Rule of St Benedict,) and, in modern times, the Canon law of the respective Christian denominations that have forms of monastic living. Those living the monastic life are known by the generic terms monks (men) and nuns (women). The word monk originated from the Greek monachos monk, itself from monos meaning alone.Monks did not live in monasteries at first, rather, they began by living alone, as the word monos might suggest. As more people took on the lives of monks, living alone in the wilderness, they started to come together and model themselves after the original monks nearby. Quickly, the monks formed communities to further their ability to observe an ascetic life. According to Christianity historian Robert Louis Wilken, By creating an alternate social structure within the Church they laid the foundations for one of the most enduring Christian institutions . . . Monastics generally dwell in a monastery, whether they live there in community (cenobites), or in seclusion (recluses).
