Cycle Recycle Kent - Making a difference April 2016
New Horizons for Mental Health in Herne Bay
Whilst our efforts to support the Umbrella centre are ongoing, we have also been in discussion with two local business people who want to improving the lives of those with mental health issues.
One is Jenny Browne, owner of Very Vintage café in William St, who is interested in offering her café for the patrons of the Umbrella Centre
to provide literacy and numeracy classes.
Cycle/Recycle is a workshop, offered by Becky and Dan who are operating a bike repair service in William St to boost confidence in mental health users by repairing and reselling old bikes.
Repairs are a skill giving attendees a purpose that lowers anxiety; both Becky and Dan are well organised with their plans. @CycleRecycleKent
We are working with them to expand the service they currently offer

This year aspectacular fly past was provided by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight comprising a Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster, one of the last still flying. This video is from a birthday party at Putters, a family entertainment center in Eugene, Oregon. The Laser Tag arena is one of the best around. They also have pool tables, miniature golf, bowling, video games and really good pizza.
