WHITSUNDAY ISLANDS & AIRLIE BEACH (AUSTRALIA)
Drone footage of Airlie Beach, Whitsunday islands and Whiteheaven Beach as well as under water footage. Airlie Beach is the entrance point to the Whitsunday islands and the Whiteheaven beach. You have to get on a boat form Airlie beach to get out to the islands.
I had been driving up the coast of Australia in my van, starting in Sydney and passing by the main cities (Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Glass house mountains, Rainbow beach, Carlos sandblow, agnes water, 1770, Tannum Sands and much more. You can see these episodes if you go to my youtube channel.)
I now decided to go out on a 2 day and 2 night trip to the Whitsunday Islands from Airlie Beach. I got some nice drone footage of the islands and also some underwater footage form snorkeling.)

KAYAKING THE WHITSUNDAY ISLANDS - Queensland, Australia
Slowly but surely we're starting to shed the label of being considered as 'travel wimps' afraid to try anything adventurous. In the past year we've gone sea kayaking in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam and around Kimitoon Island in Finland. When we noticed kayaking was a popular activity for those based nearby the Whitsunday Islands, we were thrilled to try it again for the third time. You'd almost think at this point we're kind of becoming experts at it ;) Blessed with gorgeous weather we really got to appreciate just how stunningly beautiful this part of Queensland, Australia really is when witnessed with your own two eyes. The following is our kayaking day adventure with Salty Dog.

It is amazing the kinds of new hobbies you can pick up while on the road.
Over the last year we've had the opportunity to try kayaking in both Vietnam and Finland.
When the opportunity came to try it in the Whitsundays with Salty Dog we jumped at the chance.
At times it was hard to concentrate on paddling given the spectacular scenery of the Whitsunday Islands.
During the outing we also got to spend a bit of time relaxing on an island with a pristine beach.
Overall, we'd recommend sea kayaking to just about anyone given that it is a safe and fun activity.

Cairns, Mission Beach, Whitsunday Islands - Queensland - Australia
This video is about our last adventure from Queensland, Australia.
We landed on cairns, rented a car and headed down south to Mission Beach. Caping was fun at mission beach and the next day we headed to Airlie beach which was 8hrs drive from Cairns. On the way, we saw some really cool lookout points.
From Airlie Beach, we took a boat to Whitsunday Islands. We camped on White beach island, it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever done.
Next Episode from this adventure trip will be uploaded next week.
Whitsunday Islands, Queensland
The Whitsunday Islands are a group of 74 islands that lie off the coast of Queensland, Australia and form part of the Great Barrier Reef. The islands are one of the most popular Australian tourist destinations. The vast majority of islands are designated national parks and major attractions include access to coral reefs for snorkeling and diving, pristine beaches, especially Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island and clear aquamarine warm waters. They are well connected by two major airports on Hamilton Island and the mainland town of Proserpine. Over half a million visitors come to the Whitsundays each year.
The name comes from Captain James Cook, the first European to navigate the east coast of Australia, when he sailed here on 4 June in 1770. He was struck by the area's beauty and named the island after the day he thought it was - Whit Sunday, the seventh Sunday after Easter, in the Christian calendar. It later turned out his calendar was wrong, it was not Whit Sunday, but the name has stuck. From looking around you can see many expensive yachts sailing about, the playground for Sydney's rich and Queensland's property developers. A typical daytrip might include a visit to Whitehaven beach, a trip to a part of reef for some snorkeling and a prepared lunch. Most islands do not have places to stay, since they are protected national parks. But for the more adventurous an enormous choice of camping sites dot every island, where nobody else will come.
Before tourism could make money, the Whitsundays were used for logging. Aboriginal people had traditionally used the trees here for timber, which might account for references in Captain Cook's diary about grasslands when he first came here. White settlers did the same, after the Aboriginal population had dwindled away through European diseases and bloodshed. Nowadays, there is no visible trace of logging ever having happened in the Whitsundays, although on Hook there are two clues of previous industry. One is that at the Nara inlet there are Aboriginal cave paintings. This can be accessed by boat, either on private charter or on one of the backpacker sailing yachts who sometimes stop in. The second is that if you stay on Hook you may hear bleating in the forest.

Airlie Beach, The Tropical Paradise in AUSTRALIA
In this video I’m visiting Airlie Beach, an Australian resort town on Queensland's Whitsunday Coast, is a gateway to the Whitsunday Islands including Hamilton Island and the Great Barrier Reef. Sea cruises depart from the Port of Airlie, Abell Point Marina and Shute Harbour. The Airlie Beach Lagoon is a man-made swimming area with a family-friendly beach and park. The town is also known for nightlife ranging from backpacker bars to clubs. In short it’s a tropical paradise and I’m here to explore!

Our journey began by raising the sails as passengers on board helped out.
After sailing for a while we had the chance to enjoy some beach time with an opportunity to go snorkeling.
The warm turquoise waters were inviting as we splashed around while writing in the sand.
We couldn't help but marvel at the amazing scenery.
Our journey included time ashore at Langford Reef and Bali Hai where we had a chance to learn about the incredible biodiversity.
Relaxing on the boat we looked out at the scenery, read our kindles and munched on delicious chocolate cake.
We then visited a second island where we spent time walking along the beach, taking photos and drawing our names in the sand.
It was certainly a day we'll never forget.
