We sailed from Airlie Beach to the northern most island in the Whitsunday's, Hayman Island, for some snorkeling and R&R.
Sorry about the jerkiness of the footage, but it's kinda tough to swim with one hand on the camera and the other trying to steer me around.
I cannot believe how loud parrot fish are! Especially a school of them.

And now for something completely different... a little song about the Whitsunday Island region of Queensland, where I once lived when playing piano on the island resorts.
The 2016 Airlie Beach Music Festival held a song contest to find a 'love song' about the Whitsundays. This was my entry, which I figured would make a good soundtrack to some video I shot while on a recent visit to the area. This is the result.

In November 2016 I travelled to Hamilton Island in The Whitsundays, Australia, for a 5 night holiday vacation.
Hamilton Island in The Whitsundays is a paradise island. Located just off Australia's East Coast, Hamilton Island is a holiday resort with plenty to do! And, it's unlike anywhere else I've been.
Hamilton Island is mostly owned by one family / company and as a result is a beautifully maintained island that has a real private feel, with it's own international airport!
There are pools, beaches, hotels and private holiday homes, surrounded by brilliant restaurants.
Activities including boat excursions, day trips, golf and more are available to book within the resort.

Half way between Shute Harbour and Cid Harbour. Plenty of white caps around but the swell was small even though the wind chop was breaking over the bow occasionally.
