The Whitworth Centre
All about the Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale, built in 1890. This video was made during the time of the renovation of the Centre and Park with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund. It tells the story of its benefactor Lady Louisa Whitworth, her industrialist and philanthropist husband Sir Joseph Whitworth and the renovations and developments which make the Centre all that it is today.

River Network Church - Derbyshire- Matlock - heart of the UK - Worship
River Network Church
Welcome to the River Network Church founded by Terry & Jill Eckersley. Whilst having our Ministry based in Derbyshire and traveling extensively around the UK and the world Terry & Jill began to fall in love with Derbyshire and its towns and people quickly. In January 2015 adding to this growing love Terry & Jill sensed a strong Call to plant a new vibrant Church in Derbyshire. After much praying and planning the journey started Ministering in many Churches in and around Derbyshire and exploring the land and getting to know and love the area and people. A three weekend book tour in Matlock Imperial Rooms and Matlock Bath Theatre followed This then led to another powerful night at the Imperial Rooms with a local Community Gospel Choir and again people and ministries from Matlock, Derbyshire and across the UK.
We officially launch regular Church meetings July 2017 meeting 6pm every Sunday at the Imperial Rooms.
We look forward to welcoming you with us and our quickly growing family team of all ages and cultures. Vibrant worship is led by Jill Eckersley and team, you will be warmly welcomed with refreshments served at the end. Come and hear and see a powerful presentation and demonstration of the word and Power of God. We look forward to welcoming you on Sunday, please subscribe to our newsletter and devotional to get regular updates of other exciting updates and coming events.
We already have a strong and growing vision and team for a strong, healthy, growing local Church with National and International influence and Network ( hence the name ) with an emphasis on training and the great commission.
We will soon be releasing news of other upcoming Church events and other exceptional venues !

LAKE DISTRICT: ESCAPING LONDON
Here's what I got up to during my escape from London to the North of England. I was lucky enough to catch a couple of beautiful bright spring days in Lancashire and The Lake District so naturally we took a walk/hike out in to the fields and hills to take in the beautiful landscapes of Silverdale and Arnside! ...Let me know what you think in the comments below! ...A special thank you to Sean Gagen and The American Landscape for their music - check them out in the links below!

Mary Towneley Loop
The Mary Towneley Loop is a 47-mile (76 km) circular route that forms part of the Pennine Bridleway National Trail, along the borders of Lancashire and Yorkshire. The loop was opened in 2002, the first section of the Pennine Bridleway.[1]
It is named in memory of Mary, Lady Towneley, who drew attention to the poor state of England's bridleways and the need for a long-distance route for horse-riders by riding with two friends in September 1986 from Hexham in Northumberland to Ashbourne in Derbyshire. She died in 2001.
The route joins the main Pennine Bridleway at two points, one near the village of Summit between Littleborough and Todmorden, and one just east of Worsthorne. Heading west from Summit the Loop climbs to Top of Leach at 474 metres (1,555 ft). The trail then passes through the town of Waterfoot in the Rossendale Valley and follows new tracks via Lumb before entering the Cliviger Gorge and then climbing up to the Long Causeway. It then heads north to rejoin the main Pennine Bridleway just east of Worsthorne. The Loop then follows the main route to enter West Yorkshire at Widdop, crosses Heptonstall Moor and drops down to cross the Calder Valley just west of the town of Hebden Bridge. The trail passes the villages of Mankinholes and Bottomley to return to Summit.
