Walk the Walk is a video showcasing the fantastic Bray to Greystones Cliff Walk from the stunning sea cliffs to the abundant wildlife.
If you are looking for a bracing and invigorating walk while taking in some clean sea air, look no further than the cliff walk from Bray to Greystones. Begin your journey on Bray Promenade and enjoy the seaside town atmosphere before you move on to the stunning cliff walk where you'll find a huge variety of wildlife and breathtaking scenery.
The coastal walk is 8km in length (5 miles) of cliff-top paths, which snake their way south from the end of Bray esplanade. Next to this is the challenging Bray Head climb, which will take you about an hour to the summit and back. This walk offers spectacular views of the Wicklow Mountains and, if you're lucky, all the way to Wales on a clear day.

Irish Adventures | Wicklow Travel Vlog | Eimear McElheron
Hi Everyone! Today I'm bringing you another Irish travel vlog and this time I'm exploring my home county, Wicklow! I love getting out and about in Wicklow and going on little adventures, there's always something to do and something new to see! In this vlog I've taken you to some of my favourite places and I've ventured out to some new places for me too.
I began by taking a trip out to The Happy Pear cafe in Greystones to have a bite to eat. While I was there I actually got to meet and film with the cafe owners, The Happy Pear themselves, Dave and Steve Flynn! I spent a couple of hours out in the cafe chatting with the twins and eating delicious food. Overall I had a wonderful day! As I mentioned in the vlog I can say it's probably the happiest, healthiest restaurant you'll come across here in Ireland and well worth the visit. If you aren't from Ireland you can still keep up to date with The Happy Pear over their social media and YouTube channel which you can find here:
Next myself and my friend Laura headed out to Powerscourt in Enniskerry for some afternoon tea, very fancy! The tea was €39 per person but well worth the money for the experience we had. The food was top quality, the service was impeccable and we just felt so at ease while there. A couple of weeks later I returned to Powerscourt but this time to check out the estate and gardens. The afternoon tea was in the Hotel and Spa Resort and to enter the gardens there is a charge. An adult ticket was €9.50 but again, worth the money. We spent a couple of hours walking around in awe.I can completely understand why they are award winning gardens! Irelands highest waterfall is also on the grounds but unfortunately we ran out of time so didn't get to check it out. We'll definitely be back though!
For the remainder of the vlog I'm exploring some of my favourite areas on foot which it what I love to do here. I visited Miners Cross, The Motte Stone and Avoca Handerweavers in Avoca. I took a trip out and completed a hill climb in Glendalough and finally I climbed a popular mountain here in Wicklow, The Great Sugarloaf.
I hope you enjoyed taking a trip around this beautiful county with me and if you have any feedback I'd love to hear it! Also, if you missed my first travel vlog where I explored the city of Dublin then you can check that out by clicking here:

Bray............The Ideal Location to learn English
Bray is the longest established seaside town in Ireland, and enjoys a mile long beachfront promenade. The beach is dominated by Bray Head and its summit cross, with the Sugar Loaf and the Wicklow mountains in the background. The scenic Cliff Walk from Bray Head to Greystones offers walkers a feast of views on the way. Bray is a busy urban centre that retains some of the reminders of distant medieval past. Much of its out-standing Georgian and Victorian architecture still remains.
Important Dates: St Patrick's Festival and Parade (17th of March) -- Bray Jazz (May bank-holiday) -- Bray Summerfest (July).

Greystones Cycle
Why not indulge yourself while sitting on your couch and see just what it's like to cycle through the historic town of Greystones Co Wicklow Ireland very early on a Sunday Morning. Greystones is famous for its coffee houses which front onto the main street, its harbor, its beach and off course the cliff walk which leads from Greystones to Bray. One way or the other there is a lot to said for visiting Greystones, so you too can sample the coffee and then walk it off as you head bask to Bray to top in all of with a point of Guinness in the Martello. Now that's my idea of a good day.
Giant Teddy Bear Sculpture Greystones Co Wicklow
If you are walking along the Marine road promenade at Greystones Co Wicklow you cannot miss this fascinating bronze statue of a giant teddy bear rushing with bucket and spade towards the beach.
What is this? Why is it here? There is no plaque nearby to explain -but there is a story to it. Local resident Joan stopped for a chat when she saw our puzzled looks. I'm so glad she took the time.
The statue is of a giant bear with a sand bucket and spade, outsized feet and a fierce countenance. Was it a favourite childhood toy? The bear, one of a series of giant bears crafted by Irish sculptor Patrick O’Reilly is about 8ft tall (2.4 metres). The bear is similar to others in a series that have appeared in Dublin in recent years. A “Going into Town” bear was positioned for some time at the top of Grafton Street.
The Greystones bear was donated to Greystones Tidy Towns Committee by local property developer and guardian of the National Gallery of Ireland, Dermod Dwyer. Mr Dwyer donated the bear in memory of his daughter, Caroline Dwyer Hickey, a teacher at the local St Brigid’s school, who died of cancer 2013. The Caroline Foundation set up by Mr Dwyer raises money for cancer research at St Vincent’s hospital.
Colum Ó Broin of Greystones Tidy Towns said the point of the bear was that it was a “fun sculpture”. He said the donation was “an incredibly generous contribution to the coastal amenity of our town both in terms of a visual treat and also in terms of its appeal to the human spirit”. He added that the “marching, purposefully determined bear, echoes the ebb and flow of the neighbouring sea by lifting the lowest of emotions and planting the warmest of feelings, firmly in the heart of those who are lucky enough the pass within its all-embracing shadow”.
We thought this was an excellent fun idea and Joan tells us that the striding bear is a special favourite place for all the local youngsters. Brilliant! Love it!
'THE CAROLINE FOUNDATION was established in memory of Caroline Dwyer-Hickey who passed away on 25 March 2013 aged 35 after a nine year battle with cancer. Caroline was a patient of Professor John Crown from the time of her being diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2004. Having benefited from clinical trials in both Ireland and the US Caroline was a public advocate for cancer research, firmly believing that research will one day find a cure – she was a pioneer of cancer research in that she was the first in Ireland to participate on some trials through the CCRT. The Caroline Foundation is built on, and is testimony to that advocacy, that hope and faith in the work of The CCRT.
MISSION
The mission and purpose of The Caroline Foundation is to raise money to fully fund additional post-doctoral scientific researcher(s) on the Cancer Clinical Research Trust (CCRT) team.
VISION
The hope and vision that inspires our endeavour is that through supporting cancer research, those patients who today are participants on the CCRT research programme may benefit from the on-going development of better treatments and at another level that the global cancer research project, of which CCRT is an integral player, will one day not only find a cure but will find a way of preventing cancer.
GOAL
The committee of The Caroline Foundation has set itself a clear target to raise 1million euro for The Caroline Foundation Cancer Research Fellowship.'

An Tígin Bán
During the run of the Celtic Tiger this was probably the one property on the East Coast of Ireland that was depreciating in value . The reason - the local UDC bought the access lane way along with all land right up to the gate, rezoned it urban ( excluding An Tíginban) and then refused to maintain the access. which had thirty years undisputed right of way and during this period was frequently washing away leaving the equilivant of a craggy river bed This meant this house with land became inaccessible & could not be sold on the open market . It had one buyer the UDC or local Co.Co. The negotiations that followed involved high drama & low Irish politics and ended in a Robin Hood Solicitor (yes one existed ! ) who got struck off as a Solicitor by the Law Society for his involvement . He did not benefit personally at all . There is photographic documentation in this story but as I have learned our legal system deals in money and not Justice at all, so the notion of Right & Wrong is just that .......... a fanciful notion. So this is where a moving picture can paint a thousand words .
POWERS COURT GARDEN ADVENTURE | CO. WICKLOW DUBLIN IRELAND | NOVEMBER 2015 | J & C CORNER
Powerscourt Gardens in County Wicklow, one of the most beautiful gardens in Ireland! The gardens at Powerscourt were laid out over two main periods. Many of the people involved in their creation and development never saw the gardens completed in their lifetime. When the house was rebuilt in the decade after 1731, the surrounding grounds were also remodelled. The design reflected the desire to create a garden which was part of the wider landscape. And what a view it is! To the North formal tree plantations framed the vista from the house, while a walled garden, fish pond, cascades, grottos and terraces lay to the South. Walks wound through the wooded grounds and a fine tree lined avenue was created. When you arrive at the tree lined avenue today, hundreds of beech trees will guide your visit.
