Stonehenge Aotearoa consists of 24 upright pillars, connected by lintels to form a circular structure 30 metres in diameter and approximately 4 metres high. This structure is similar in design and size to the circle of sarsen stones at Stonehenge on Salisbury Plains, England.
Castlepoint - is a small township set in a dramatic seaside environment just 64km from Masterton. Castlepoint has a fossil-rich limestone reef, safe sandy beaches and features the stunning 162m high Castle Rock, one of the most spectacular sights along the Wairarapa coast.
Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, sits near the North Island’s southernmost point on the Cook Strait. A compact city, it encompasses a waterfront promenade, sandy beaches, a working harbour and colourful timber houses on surrounding hills. From Lambton Quay, the iconic red Wellington Cable Car heads to the Wellington Botanic Gardens. Strong winds through the Cook Strait give it the nickname Windy Wellington.
Extreme Kingfish Hunting - LBG Fishing In Wellington New Zealand - Man vs Wild Fishing
This video from showcases the LBG fishing spots in Wellington starting at boom rock for shore based sea fishing moving into catching the full fight of a Massive 24 KG kingfish in Wellington Harbour caught by Doug . One of three kingfish Doug caught in the season , , and one of many kingfish caught from Wellington harbour over the years. This fish was caught using a live bait Kahawhai about 30cm long give or take under a ballon and took about one hour 20 mintues of hard yards to land. Unfortunatly is was gaffed and gut hooked so couldnt be released however many are released , the legal size for kingfish in New Zealand is 75 cm and most fisherman here are very good at sticking to the rules , fishing tackle for this fish Doug used 20 kg fishing line with no trace and a penn jigmaster fishing reel , with a 6kg jig stick .
In the beginning of the video you are taken around the coast of Makara to one of wellingtons most famous fishing spots called Boom Rock , Boom Rock fishing these days is no where near as good as days gone by by still worth a Jorney at least once a season . If you have never been there before its a bit of a walk about 1 hour 30 mintues and its best to take some burley along to be sure you get the fish excited :) . There is a small cave you can sleep in when your not night fishing or diving in the afternoon after your morning fish. And remember always take home your trash !

Oriental Bay boasts one of Wellington's finest walks. Beautiful views of the beach, bay and back into the city. Stop off along the way to grab some ice cream and enjoy the cafe life here.

Why should you visit Wellington, New Zealand?
Kia Ora.
James Prime here and if you're watching this video then you've probably already heard of cities such as: Sydney, LA, Chicago, New York, Fremont Ohio, Paris and London. In this video, I want talk about the city that I've living in for the past 4-5 months, which is Wellington, New Zealand. Why should you visit Wellington, NZ? That's a great question, let's go find out! I straight up just typed the intro for the video in the description. No one reads this stuff anyways. Since no one reads this, I'll give some info on why I raised my hands at 00:35. I did that because it took 9 takes to get the shot and it started raining so I had to put my drone away for awhile, sit in the rain and restart! It was wild hahaha. My favorite part of this entire video is 5:04. I was at the top of Mount Kau Kau at sunrise. My drone battery was running low so I had like 3 minutes of flight time left before it lands. In a last ditch effort to get a decent shot of me running the trail I sprinted down, got tripped up by a rock and barrel rolled down the hill with a power slide finish. Just like I planned it...Anyway, thanks for watching!

2011-11-21 - 3NEWS - WELLINGTON WIND TOO STRONG FOR SOME [RAW FOOTAGE]
Wellington experienced some wild winds today, with gusts up to 146 kilometres an hour, making it impossible for some Wellingtonians to stay on their feet.
Outside Greytown School in the Wairarapa , a tree fell on two people walking on the roadside.
Both were injured and taken to Masterton Hospital - one is in a serious condition and the other in a moderate condition.
Ferry sailings continued as usual and some flights were delayed and passengers experienced some bumpy approaches to the runway.
Police issued a warning to motorists, asking them to take extra care.
Election billboards have been the hardest hit, with many being blown down across the city.
The airport also announced their winning design to replace the ALL BLACK sign on the Miramar cutting today which was, ironically, Wellington with the last few letters blowing away.

Wedding In An Ecosanctuary! | Zealandia Ecosanctuary, Wellington | Wellington Wedding Video
As you may know, I'm super passionate about nature & wildlife, so when Gina & Mike told me they were getting married in the world's first fully-fenced urban ecosanctuary (home to New Zealand's most rare and extraordinary wildlife), I almost fell out of my chair! It was such a perfect location for these two, who share a love for conservation and the desire to make the world a better place for both people and animals. The film reflects their selfless nature and tells a beautiful story of the important things in life: friends, family and thriving nature.
Kind Words: Scott is absolutely fantastic. I love his work and also love how special and comfortable he made everyone feel. He listens and he cares. So important when you're inviting someone to record your day. Also, look how he captured our beautiful native flora and fauna!

30 Tips for Backpacking in New Zealand ➜
-- About this video --
Today on New Zealand’s Biggest Gap Year web series we are visiting Zealandia in Wellington. Zealandia is a wildlife sanctuary in New Zealand with a protective predator proof fence. Native birds are abundant here where it is safe from invasive pests. We learn a lot about the native ecosystem and the threat of introduced pests at the Zealandia Museum.
After being given a map of multiple walks around Zealandia in Wellington, we start walking to see more and more New Zealand birds. We see kaka, tui, takahe, North Island robin, shags and so much more!
Feeding stations in Zealandia allow you to see New Zealand native birds up-close.
We also bump into one of the Zealandia Ecosanctuary volunteers who gives us a quick tour of Zealandia to explain more about the native plants and birds of New Zealand. We even see the weta, a giant New Zealand insect.
If you want to learn about New Zealand’s eco-system, it’s native wildlife and the New Zealand birds, then Zealandia Ecosanctuary in Wellington is a great place to start to get informed.
So what do you think of Zealandia in Wellington? Is this wildlife sanctuary in Wellington a place you would put on your New Zealand bucket list?

Wellington's wild wine: natural wine in the Wellington region
Wellington’s got a new wine scene and it’s far from tame – in fact, it’s positively wild. Natural wine is being made, poured and enjoyed right in the heart of the Wellington CBD. Move over, craft beer – there’s a cool new fermented beverage in town. Read more here:
