3x3 TARP AND BIVVY WILD CAMP IN A PINE FOREST
I was joined by my mate and long time subscriber Kai for this 9.25 mile circular walk in Helpston, near Peterborough, in Cambridgeshire, the birthplace of one of England's finest rural poets, John Clare.
The route featured several woods, so we decided to wild camp in Southey Wood, 3/4 of the way round, in a pine forest.
I had my Lomo 3x3 tarp and Rab Storm Bivvy bag and Kai had his Terra Nova Jupiter hooped bivvy bag. The weather was perfect all day and all night and we slept well.

School Residential Trips in The New Forest | New Forest Activities
There are so many benefits to including outdoor activities as part of educational school and youth trips. Getting them out in the fresh air and doing something active is fantastic for young people's health and wellbeing, they’ll learn new skills that cannot be taught in a classroom, and they’ll achieve things they never thought possible.
Our passion and years of experience organising school trips and youth group projects allows us to offer unique and fulfilling activities that will aid both their educational and personal development.

HERONGATE PUB WALK (2/8/17)
This 5 mile walk starting from The Boars Head pub in Herongate, was only up the road from where I work in Brentwood, so I ventured out before my shift started.
The weather turned pretty nasty and we experienced heavy rain. I sadly had to abandon the walk halfway because I got very lost and didn't have time to find my way back onto the designated route. Instead I had to walk for an hour along a busy main road through the forest and neighbouring villages back to the pub!
The section of the walk I did complete however, was filled with beautiful forest scenes and old trees, and I did get a glimpse of Thorndon Country Park.
WALTHAM ABBEY AND KING HAROLD'S TOMB | ESSEX
This is another English Heritage owned site that myself and Candice decided to visit one Sunday and it is free entry. I have been here before a long time ago on a day walk. Not only can you explore the vast grounds of the abbey and it's ruins, but it is supposedly the final resting place of the last Saxon King of England, the famous King Harold (killed by an arrow to the eye at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 and succeeded by William the Conqueror). A must see and visit for any history buff!
