Which Section of the GREAT WALL OF CHINA Should You Visit? | Abandoned or Restored
Which Section of the Great Wall of China should you visit? This was probably the biggest question we had before travelling to China. Mutianyu? Badaling? Jinshanling? Or how about off the beaten path at the Great Wall Fresh Homestay? - This film aims to determine once and for all, which is the best section of the Great Wall to visit.
I'm trying something a little different with this film - it's longer and more documentary style. Let me know what you think in the comments!

UNRESTORED GREAT WALL HIKE | Gubeikou Wild Wall China Vlog
CHINA TRAVEL GUIDE:
BEST VPN FOR CHINA:
This was an unforgettable day! It was my first time seeing the Great Wall of China and I got to start with an unrestored section, which I've been dying to see! The ridiculously fun people we spent the day with made the whole experience even better. This section of wall is called Gubeikou, more specifically Panlongshan, and we took a private van to get there for a total of 1000 RMB (which we then split between 6 people). I highly recommend this hike if you're up for some exercise and incredible views!

Exploring untouched parts of the great Wall of China
In one day we ended up catching 2 buses, 5 Taxis and three metro trains. Leaving Beijing at 5am and returning to Beijing at 2am. Extremely Exhausted and Dehydrated stumbling across the Great Wall of China in smoggy heat.
Sadly due to how exhausted we were walking along the wall I did not capture half as much footage on this tremendous day as I would have liked. The video does not nearly do justice for how insane the environment around us was.
The day also included getting stung by poisonous caterpillars and finding ourselves enclosed on a bush track surrounded by the scariest looking spiders we had ever seen.

Forbidden camping on the Great Wall of China ???? | An Adventure in China
Part II of An Adventure in China (part I here:
We've only just arrived and already we are on the move - heading north to explore the Great Wall of China. There are many ways to explore The Great Wall, but we decided to take one of the less common approaches - getting up close and personal with one of the unrestored and unmaintained parts of the 500km beast.
Our journey started in Huanghua cheng (黄花城 幻化成) and ended... in a tent in one of the wall fortifications.
An incredible adventure and one I would highly recommend.

The Great Wall of China, Jinshanling to Simatai
This is a section of my hike from Jinshanling to Simatai a 600 year old unrestored part of the wall. it shows just how steep some of the sections are, and the level of decay that has occured.
Gubeikou Great Wall, Beijing
Located to the southeast of Gubeikou Town in Miyun County of Beijing, Gubeikou Great Wall comprises two sections. The first section was built during the Northern Qi Dynasty and the second section was built during the early Ming Dynasty. Wohushan (Crouching Tiger Mountain) and Panlongshan (Coiling Dragon Mountain) are the main highlights of Gubeikou Great Wall. One can go there for a visit to see the original appearance of the Great Wall.
Beijing Travel Guide - Great Wall Of China Part 1 Mongol Invaders HD
Part 1: Mongol Invaders
In March, 1907, Aurel Stein, a British explorer and adventurer, and his caravan make their way through the Taklimakan desert. Giant ruins grab their attention: it is the Jade Gate, the westernmost point of a more than two-thousand-year-old fortification system. The walls, once built with clay and straw, are barely identifiable in some parts, but the fortification must have had great significance in the past. Travel back in time to around 130 BC. For centuries, belligerent nomads from the north have been raiding, looting and pillaging Chinese settlements. The contrast could not be more pronounced: wild horsemen roaming the desert on the one side, on the other a population of settled farmers. Following a campaign against the barbarians, Emperor Wudi of the Han dynasty decides to build a wall against the enemies. Construction starts near the location where Aurel Stein would find the ruins of the Jade Gate two thousand years later. Thousands of forced labour convicts were sent to the northwestern part of China, and thousands paid with their lives. Although the wall of the Han Dynasty crumbled into dust, subsequent dynasties built their own walls up to form the stone wall that became a monumental structure and a global icon.
