First of sorry about the shaky camera work and terrible sound. This was filmed before i upgraded to gopro 7 and gimbal. The gimbal is now broke and i still need a microphone that handles wind on the gopro 7. I also badly need more hard drives ideally i need four 8gb hard drives but for now one will have to do. We took the free yes that is right free ferry to Bruny island from Tasmania mainland. From there was abit more tricky as there was no public transport but we did manage to hitchhike a lift even though it was out of season as no tourist about. We hitchhiked a lift to camping area. We stopped at 3 camping areas and did one wild camp. The Isthmus which is a narrow piece of land connecting two larger areas across an expanse of water by which they are otherwise separated. We do have one in the UK at St Ninian's Isle is a small tied island connected by the largest tombolo in the UK. A tombolo is an isthmus that consists of a spit or bar, and a strait is the sea counterpart of an isthmus. Which i also been to and very impressive to. The city of Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand is situated on an isthmus. Bruny Island was the site of a land transfer by the state government to local Aboriginal people.
There is a really cool honey store on the island. We brought some honey from there sorry i can not remember the name and the video footage i had of it was lost due to having a old mobile hard drive. There was a whole load of lost footage but i just can not got the cash to buy a new one.
The trip to Tasmania is not cheap but once your hear you can live very cheap is possible to wild camp in the more out the way areas and there are free campsites about to.

Tasmania Part 1 by The Australian Tourist
Tasmania is the only island state in Australia positioned at the bottom of the country south of Melbourne. Simply put Tasmania is a haven for Tourists. We were able to travel around in a Tasmanian camper which gave us the added benefit of having our transport, accommodation & cooking all in one. Tasmania is approximately 300km from north to south & east to west so you are going to need some transport, if you want to take full advantage of all that the island has to offer. Along our travels we saw an extreme number or bike riders peddling their way around Tasmania, after chatting with them they stated it was such a great place to cycle around as the towns aren't too far from each other. For those who don't want to brave the roads on a bike there are almost more campers then people available and every where you go there are caravan parks or hidden little places to park on the side of the road (you didn't hear that part from me). The scenery is incredible and there is great variety from the east to the west and the north to the south.
You can't go to Tasmania with out seeing the Tasmanian Devil or even try find the thought to be extinct Tasmanian Tiger. If your lucky enough you may spot a Tasmanian Devil in the wild but there are several wild life parks such as East Coast Nature World that you can get up close and take picture of the little devils.
Tasmania has a detailed history of convict life with one of the best places to see first hand, buildings and living conditions of the early convicts & settlers is at Port Arthur. Not far from Port Arthur are incredible cliffs with ocean caves, arches and natural stone structures. It may very well be worth while taking one of the many boat tours to show you around these areas.
As you travel around Tasmania you'll see many different types of farms including some famous vineyards that are well worth a stop.
Hobart has plenty to offer besides being a city & offering all the comforts of the city it also has the incredible Mt Wellington towering over it. Please don't go to Hobart with out the drive up Mt Wellington.
Tourism & travel in Tasmania is world class, if you live in Australia it's only a cheap flight away.

Wineglass Bay - Wild Tasmania Ep. 2
Wineglass Bay is a very special horseshoe shaped beach in Freycinet National Park in Tasmania. This was one of the most beautiful beaches we've seen and because you must hike into it there are very few people on it. We also hiked to the top of Mt Amos and Mt Graham on either side of Wineglass Bay. Both were incredible hikes that were well worth it!

Bruny Island Best Bits and Must Dos
Our next leg of Tasmania leads us on to Bruny Island!!
We needed to stock up on supplies before heading over to Bruny, so we headed back to the town of Huon to do a big shop????. With the fridges overflowing, enough beer to last 3 weeks and both jerry cans full of fuel, we headed off. I'm not sure why we went crazy stocking up, as we only planned to stay 3-5nights max on Bruny. ????
It was pretty late in the afternoon and bad weather⛈ predicted to set in, so we stayed the night at Gordon, before catching the ferry the next day. That night at Gordon, the winds got up to 50knots, so we awoke in the middle of the night and had to activate 'midget mode' - pop our van down⬇️. It was quite funny to watch, as we popped one side down and raced to pop the other down, the popped down side would then pop back up, due to the force of the wind????, so it took us a few goes to get both sides down and locked down. ????
The skies cleared and the wind had dropped the next day, so off to the Bruny Island ferry terminal⛴ we went. We got our tickets ($70 return) and waited in line for the next ferry. Its only a short trip and then onto the island to start exploring. Camp spots are limited if you have a dog, so we chose to stay at the Hotel Bruny for our stay. Plus we splurged out to get power for our 4 nights stay. The weather was pretty hit and miss, so when the sun☀️ shone we tried to see the sights and when it rained alot????, we took cover in our van.
We did get to see and do everything we wanted over our 5 days on the island. Got our food fix by visiting get shucked oysters, the Bruny Cheese factory????, Bruny Chocolate factory, Bruny berry farm and had dinner at the hotel. All the food we had was super delicious! We also managed to tour the north island, as well as sight see the south island. Visiting the Bruny island lighthouse, adventure bay, cloudy bay & the neck. We completed the trek????????♀️???????? around the Fluted Cape Trail, one afternoon, which was great and on our drive back to camp after the walk we spotted 2 of the allusive pure white wallabies! ????
Kurt being the mad keen fisherman had heard you can catch squid off the adventure bay jetty, so we spent 4 hours there one day, where he managed to catch 3 decent sized ones! His first squid catches on the trip, so he was stoked????????. We crumbed them up and he had them for dinner that night - delicious! We were tossing up whether to do the popular Bruny Island ferry cruise, as the weather was so unpredictable. It looked promising for our last day on Bruny, so we bit the bullet and booked ourselves into the afternoon cruise????! Highly recommend to do it if you have the time and weather permits.
Well if we had more sunshine we could of stayed on Bruny a while longer, but hey the show must go on! We still have the whole east coast of Tassie to see!

Bruny Island, Tasmania
Bruny Island is an island of stunning natural beauty, close to Hobart, in the state of Tasmania in Australia. It's a possible day-trip from Hobart, but with boutique accommodation and plenty to offer for longer stays. The island is divided into North and South Bruny, joined by a narrow isthmus.
North Bruny is mainly farmland, and is relatively flat. South Bruny is more mountainous, and is more heavily forested. The national park sections are on South Bruny. The main town for visitors is Adventure Bay on South Bruny. This is where the cruises depart from, and is adjacent to one of the three discrete sections of South Bruny National Park. There is accommodation here, and a bowling club for drinks and meals. If you are going to spot the White Wallaby, along the national park track here at dusk is your best chance, and the rainforest and walks are in the hills just about the town. Not far from Adventure Bay is the town of Allonah. Not as much of a tourist centre, you'll find the post office, pharmacy and the pub here, as well as walks along the water. There are smaller settlements, a few cafes and produce centres scattered around.
Bruny Island is approximately 100 km from one end to the other. Essentially, there is one road that stretches the length of the island, with branch roads to towns, beaches and attractions. Expect to take around 45 minutes to drive between the ferry and Adventure Bay or Allonah at the north of the South Island. Then another half an hour or so from there down to Cape Bruny. The advisory speed limit drops to 45 km/h on many parts of the main road between dusk and dawn - due to the danger of hitting wildlife. Also, remember that the insurance on many rental cars does not cover damage done to their cars hitting wildlife between dusk and dawn. The common ways to explore are by private car or by tour. There is no scheduled public transport on the island. There are no facilities provided on the narrow shoulders for cyclists.

It was only two hundred years ago that Tasmania was a British colony known as Van Diemens Land -- and so remote that its only use was as a penal settlement for the most hardened criminals. Times have definitely changed, yet that remote untamed island of history is never far away.
Today Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, is a bustling modern city and busy port. Mount Wellington rises straight out of the city to more than 1200 metres. It's possible-- in just a little over half an hour - to drive from a city centre restaurant to a wilderness where you could freeze to death. Even in summer snow can fall here. To the people of Hobart, this place is simply The Mountain - a finger of a vast and trackless wilderness pointing right at the heart of the city -- so it's not surprising that Tasmania's wild heritage plays a central role in the lives of the island's human inhabitants.
