I head off Fishing with my Dad to try and catch the Giant Catfish that lurk in a tiny pond here in the UK. The Wels catfish can grow to monster sizes in parts of Europe. The River Monsters are usually found on the famous river Ebro in Spain as well as various rivers in Italy and other countries in Europe. But in the UK, they are found in various still water ponds and lakes. Pond Fishing is really popular in the UK, so I head out with Dad for a day fishing. We show you the rigs and gear that we use to catch catfish. They can be caught on both bait and lures. Learning how to catch catfish is not complicated. Growing on Crucians
In this third video published by the National Crucian Conservation Project Martin Salter looks at the establishment of a growing on pond to provide a new source of crucians for waters in the South. Godalming Angling Society has converted its wildlife pond at Marsh Farm for this purpose and the crucians were provided by the Environment Agency's fish farm. Woman makes up story to claim benefits and scam the government in the UK
In September 1726, news reached the court of King George I of the alleged birth of several rabbits to Mary Toft (1703-1763) of Godalming, near Guildford, in Surrey. Toft was a twenty-five year old illiterate servant. According to reports, despite having had a miscarriage just a month earlier in August 1726, Mary had still appeared to be pregnant. On September 27th, she went into labour and was attended initially by her neighbour Mary Gill, and then her mother in law Ann Toft. She gave birth to something resembling a liverless cat.

Catch a Crucian Month
Angling Trust Campaigns Chief Martin Salter met up with Hugh Miles of Passion for Angling fame at Godalming Angling Society's record breaking Johnson's Lake to promote ‘Catch a Crucian Month’ and to record a short film urging anglers to use the last few days of the month to submit their pictures into the new photo competition. To enter go to catchacrucian.wordpress.com and submit your photos which should have been taken during June. The closing date of the competition is July 15th 2016.
