The Greatest Hip Hop Groups
Hip hop music, also called hip-hop or rap music, is a genre of popular music developed in the United States by inner-city African Americans and Latino Americans in the Bronx borough of New York City in the 1970s. It consists of a stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rapping, a rhythmic and rhyming speech that is chanted. It developed as part of hip hop culture, a subculture defined by four key stylistic elements: MCing/rapping, DJing/scratching with turntables, break dancing, and graffiti writing.

OUTDOOR TORTOISE ENCLOSURE
PLEASE READ - I give the wrong measurements for the enclosure in the video. It is actually 7ft x 6ft. I also forget to mention that the foundations are very deep and there is wire mesh under the substrate in order to prevent rats burrowing up into it. It was built several months ago and William has had a lovely summer playing in it. He still gets to have a supervised roam around the rest of the garden everyday, as it is important to give them a change of scenery even when they have a large enclosure like this. In the wild they would cover large areas everyday. William also has a tortoise table indoors, which he sleeps in at night and warms up in every morning before going out to play and eat.
2014 UPDATE - Since this video was made we have added a wooden heated hut and a large greenhouse that he has access to. The hut is underneath where the plantppots are and the greenhouse is behind that. They are accessible via a tunnel. This increases his overall space to 14ft x 6 ft. I will put an updated video of his enclosure on youtube in the near future.
Please check out my video on diet tips.
As always, if you want to know more about keeping a tortoise properly then visit the following websites;
tortoisetrust.org
tortoisetrustforum.org
thetortoisetable.org.uk
Tortoises are wonderful animals so house them well, feed them what they would eat in the wild and give them lots of your time and care. If you are thinking about getting one, please don't go to a petshop as they give dangerous advice and are responsible for many tortoise deaths. Get one from a breeder or better yet re-home one in need.

- About wolves and wolfdogs -
Wolves and wolfdogs are destructive and can be dangerous. But they they do not mean to be- it is simply who they are. It cannot be trained, tamed, or controlled. To do that would be cruelty. You must be willing to adapt to them. They are wild animals and acceptance of that is what they deserve. They are under no obligation to follow the laws of man.
- About Lorne -
Lorne was born in at a zoo in Georgia who breeds a select number of wolf pups to be used for educational purposes and for ambassadors for their species.
Lorne's brother, Wyatt can be seen at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California. Lorne is being raised with the hope of using him in educational talks to raise awareness for an often misunderstood animal.
Despite media attention that wolves in the wild have stabilized their numbers, they are still very much at risk. Wolf hunting continues to persist, both legally and illegally. Wolves are still stigmatized in society, especially by farmers and ranchers who if merely seeing a wolf will on sight, no matter the threat. This mentality is hurting our intelligent friend, whose relationship and companionship led us to the domesticated dog we have today and love.
Lorne visits with the public regularly and even though he's just a pup, he has instantly charmed his way into the hearts of many others who before misunderstood and feared one of our closest ties to the natural world.
Lorne is a subspecies of the Grey (or Timber) Wolf. He was born on April 17th, 2014 (wolves are only born in the spring, unlike domesticated dogs) and until he came to me just shy of 7 weeks was used in meet-and-greets at the Georgia zoo.
I'm working with Lorne every day and I hope that he is able to continue to reach out to the public as he matures. It is common that wolves once establishing a territory upon reaching adulthood have trouble leaving it and feel much more comfortable at home than in strange places.
We will see what path Lorne wants to follow in life, but I hope that he will be kind enough to continue to make a positive impression on others and be an ambassador for his species.
Commonly asked questions:
- How much wolf is in Lorne? -
He's as pure as you can get without taking a wolf from the wild.
Most wolves in the wild are 'contaminated with domesticated dog DNA, through feral dogs in-breeding. It is impossible to differentiate between the two on a genetic level. Lorne is genetically related to Tundra Wolves (subspecies of grey), which are found throughout Eastern Europe and Russia. The white patch they have on their chest indicates that somewhere, many years ago at least one dog must have been mated with a wolf to cause that patch, and through interbreeding it have become a typical marker in Tundra Wolves. Wild wolves will not readily breed with a dog, so it's very unusual to have a 50/50 cross.
- Do wolves make good pets? -
No. Wolves do not make good pets, they are not domesticated like dogs. Since wolves aren't domesticated, they are not bred to live along side humans.

Boxing Pub (1957)
A pub with a boxing ring in the back. While the parents gather for a beer or two the youngsters learn how to fight properly. See here footage from Londons only Boxing pub.
London.
High angle L/S of a bunch of boys jumping into a boxing ring. Some have boxing gloves on, some don't. Boys start boxing in pairs. A man goes into the ring to coach the boys. Panoramic shot of the 'gym' reveals that it is a part of a pub and the coach serves drinks on breaks. Boxing ring area is divided from the bar area with a glass door. Several shots of the bar and the ring - people having drinks and the boys train.
Dave McCleave, one of Britain's greatest boxers, runs the Union Tavern in South London and in its back room runs a boxing club. He trains the boys with help of his friend Tiny Ryan, former amateur featherweight champion of Great Britain. Mr McCleave has even transformed a part of the back garden into dressing rooms with showers and massage tables.
Boys are seen training in the ring. C/U shot of one of the boys, six years old Billy May. Mr Ryan observes the older boys punching a bag. Several shots showing both, younger boys in the ring coached by Mr McCleave and older ones punching the bag, coached by Mr Ryan.
Mr McCleave leaves the ring and sits next to his wife to rest a bit. He wipes the sweat off his face and breaths deeply. A bar woman is seen pouring an orange juice into a glass and taking it to Mr McCleave. He drinks it. Still very sweaty, he wipes the sweat off his face.
Two very young boys (can be between 4 and 6) are fighting. They have proper boxing shoes and gloves, there is a judge in the ring and audience is watching them - it all seems pretty official. Shots of the boys fighting are intercut with shots of the people watching. The surprising thing is that boys fight rather viciously which is accepted as normal not only by the 'boxing audience' but also by the others in the pub - women included! Disturbing watch!

The Most HORRIFIC Air Disasters You’ve Probably Never Heard Of
Check out our New Biography Channel:
It’s a nightmare all of us occasionally have. As the plane taxies down the runway, as it starts to lift off into the air, as the ground drops further and further away… the faint, unstoppable fear that the next thing you feel might be gravity grabbing hold and dragging you down to a fiery grave. That’s the reason horrific air disasters tend to stick in our minds. It’s all too easy to imagine how those poor people on the Hindenburg, or on Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, or in the planes in the Tenerife Airport disaster must have felt.

Calling All Cars: The Bad Man / Flat-Nosed Pliers / Skeleton in the Desert
The radio show Calling All Cars hired LAPD radio dispacher Jesse Rosenquist to be the voice of the dispatcher. Rosenquist was already famous because home radios could tune into early police radio frequencies. As the first police radio dispatcher presented to the public ear, his was the voice that actors went to when called upon for a radio dispatcher role.
The iconic television series Dragnet, with LAPD Detective Joe Friday as the primary character, was the first major media representation of the department. Real LAPD operations inspired Jack Webb to create the series and close cooperation with department officers let him make it as realistic as possible, including authentic police equipment and sound recording on-site at the police station.
Due to Dragnet's popularity, LAPD Chief Parker became, after J. Edgar Hoover, the most well known and respected law enforcement official in the nation. In the 1960s, when the LAPD under Chief Thomas Reddin expanded its community relations division and began efforts to reach out to the African-American community, Dragnet followed suit with more emphasis on internal affairs and community policing than solving crimes, the show's previous mainstay.
Several prominent representations of the LAPD and its officers in television and film include Adam-12, Blue Streak, Blue Thunder, Boomtown, The Closer, Colors, Crash, Columbo, Dark Blue, Die Hard, End of Watch, Heat, Hollywood Homicide, Hunter, Internal Affairs, Jackie Brown, L.A. Confidential, Lakeview Terrace, Law & Order: Los Angeles, Life, Numb3rs, The Shield, Southland, Speed, Street Kings, SWAT, Training Day and the Lethal Weapon, Rush Hour and Terminator film series. The LAPD is also featured in the video games Midnight Club II, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, L.A. Noire and Call of Juarez: The Cartel.
The LAPD has also been the subject of numerous novels. Elizabeth Linington used the department as her backdrop in three different series written under three different names, perhaps the most popular being those novel featuring Det. Lt. Luis Mendoza, who was introduced in the Edgar-nominated Case Pending. Joseph Wambaugh, the son of a Pittsburgh policeman, spent fourteen years in the department, using his background to write novels with authentic fictional depictions of life in the LAPD. Wambaugh also created the Emmy-winning TV anthology series Police Story. Wambaugh was also a major influence on James Ellroy, who wrote several novels about the Department set during the 1940s and 1950s, the most famous of which are probably The Black Dahlia, fictionalizing the LAPD's most famous cold case, and L.A. Confidential, which was made into a film of the same name. Both the novel and the film chronicled mass-murder and corruption inside and outside the force during the Parker era. Critic Roger Ebert indicates that the film's characters (from the 1950s) represent the choices ahead for the LAPD: assisting Hollywood limelight, aggressive policing with relaxed ethics, and a straight arrow approach.
Brawl Between McDonald's Customer and Employees Caught on Video

An employee seems to hand the customer her food, but the woman grabbed it and threw it back at her. InsideEdition.com's Mara Montalbano ( has more.

Robin Friday
Robin Friday was an English footballer who played professionally as a forward for Reading and Cardiff City during a career that lasted four years in the mid-1970s. His on-field performances were regarded as excellent, and he won Reading's player of the year award in both of his full seasons there, as well as being the leading goal scorer. However, his habit of unsettling opponents through physical intimidation contributed to a heavily tarnished disciplinary record, and his personal life was one of heavy smoking, drinking, womanising and drug abuse. Despite his short career, he remains prominent in the memory of Reading and Cardiff supporters, both as a player and a personality. He has been voted Reading's best ever player three times.
Born and raised in Acton, west London, Friday was scouted, but not retained, by four professional clubs during his teenage years. He appeared for local semi-professional sides in the Isthmian League until he joined Charlie Hurley's Fourth Division Reading team in 1974—quickly becoming a key player, he helped Reading to win promotion to the Third Division during the 1975–76 season. As his drug habit intensified, Friday's form began to dip in the first half of the 1976–77 season, leading Reading to sell him to Second Division side Cardiff City around the New Year. Friday travelled to join his new team by train without a valid ticket and had to be bailed by the Cardiff manager Jimmy Andrews before he signed for the club. He performed strongly on his debut, but afterwards his form declined and his personal life caused him to repeatedly miss matches altogether. Following a number of incidents, on and off the field—including kicking Mark Lawrenson in the face mid-game—Friday retired from football in December 1977, aged 25. He died in Acton in 1990, aged 38, after suffering a heart attack.
