West Iceland & Snaefellsnes | Iceland: Road Trip Of A Lifetime | Shot On GoPro
In the first episode of Iceland: Road Trip Of A Lifetime, we are going to explore the West Iceland & Snaefellsnes peninsula. This region is very close to Reykjavik & it is possible to do day trips from the capital as well.
We are exploring the beautiful lighthouses of Akranes, amazing Hraunfossar, mystical Deildarthungver, Ytri Tunga, tip of Snaefellsnes - Arnarstapi & the most photographed mountain in Iceland - Kirkjufell. It took us 2 complete days to see these 6 amazing attractions.
Enjoy a slice of West Iceland & Snaefellsnes. #TuneInToWCN

Our Iceland Vlog Saga Day 5 - Going West
Day 5 of our Iceland road trip. Going west, well slightly more north-west towards Iceland's western peninsula.
???? More #Iceland Videos
From Reykjavik, we head up to Akranes and the #Akranes lighthouse via the Hvalfjörður fjord.
We meet Hilmar Sigvaldason who looks after the Akranes lighthouse.
The video mentioned of the Icelandic choir singing inside the lighthouse can be found here:
After Akranes it’s up through Borgarnes and over the windy and snowy route 56 to Stykkishólmur. This little fishing village was a film location for the Ben Stiller film “The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty’ - it was used as Greenland.

Elements of Iceland, the west in summer (time lapses 4k video and drone footage)
Images with music and sounds from my tour of West Iceland in August and September. For photographers and videographers Iceland is a magical place, a unique country, not only for the deserted and untouched landscapes, but also for the fantastic light.
At the beginning there are a few urban images of the capital Reykjavik and the town of Akranes, but the rest of the video is shot in remote areas of the North West of this unique country with fjords, volcanoes, waterfalls, small villages, beautiful nature.
Shot with Mavic 2 zoom, Mavic 2 Pro and Nikon D850.

Superjeep.is Private Northern lights tour on 28.02.2017
The Northern lights photos are taken in Hvalfjörður (whale-fjord), is situated in the west of Iceland between Mosfellsbær and Akranes. The fjord is approximately 30 km long and 5 km wide.
The innermost part of the fjord shows an interesting mixture of volcanic mountains and green vegetation in summertime. At Botnsá, Nootka lupine is common, along with other flowers and moss, as well as small forests of birch and conifers. The area displays a good example of the planting of forests, a project that has been going on in Iceland for some years.
Small Icelandic Towns #8 - Akranes Houses
Please click on subtitles for full narritation but my small town series are meant to give you an idea about how it is to live in Icelandic small towns, without sounding like a tourist guide. My motto is to show them in different seasons trough drive-around videos, as they are, in every kind of mood and weather there is. Please tolerate with my work since I'm an amateur in film-making but practice makes perfect. My plan is to make a mini-documentaries over all Icelandic towns in the next years so this is far from end result. I use all my free time to record in different seasons, making info-texts and collecting feedback in order to make my material straight to the point with the information travellers seek while planing their trip to my country.

Join us on an adventure in West Iceland! #AdventureStartsWithMe
West Iceland is robust with adventure and discovery and wildlife and... just a whole mix of amazing experiences! The whole time I was there I couldn't help but think about how very much my kids would have loved to experience this trip as well. It is an ideal family destination.

The Land of Ice & Fire (Part 6 - Bíldudalur)
We were basically following the coastline of the Westfjords on the fairly smooth dirt road northbound. With the 4wd engage I managed to cruise at around 90 km/h (55 mp/h), having fun and sliding at sharp corners as if I'm driving a Subaru Impreza WRX. After crossing at the very top of a mountain pass, we were looking at this beautiful view of another small fishing village of Bíldudalur. I fired up the engines of MPone and let her swoop down for a closer view.
Surrounded by layered, flat top mountains, Bíldudalur is an attractive fishing village settled on the Arnarfjörður fjord. This fjord-side location is responsible for the village’s envious reputation as “the good weather capital” of the Westfjords.

Small Icelandic Towns #6 - The Beutiful Mosfellsbær
My small town series are meant to give you an idea about how it is to live in Icelandic small towns, without sounding like a tourist guide.
So enjoy Mosfellsbær and let me know in the comment section what you seek to know about my country and note that I'm not a tourist guide and don't wanna go the way to bring you the common cliche about my country. I just wanna speak out like I should to to a friend in my car. I will do voiceover soon for my video's and upgrading all material to 4K so your subscription is hugely apprecciated since I'm doing my work without any sponsorship.
Bike Ride Around Akranes Iceland
We stayed at an amazing Guesthouse in Akranes (a port town with a population just under 7000) called Teigur. The owners have extra bikes that they let the guests use for around town. Once the rain stopped I took advantage of this and took a ride around town. Please excuse the jumpiness of the video, some of the ride was uphill or against very strong winds that day.
Music is by Union Duke (make sure you check them out).
