Mountain Biking in Picton - New Zealand's Biggest Gap Year – Backpacker Guide New Zealand

-- About this video --
Today’s activity out of our 365 Days: 365 Activities in New Zealand is mountain biking in Picton. The Picton mountain biking trail we are doing today is the Link Pathway between Picton and Havelock.
The Link Pathway in Picton is a great alternative to the Queen Charlotte Track. We hire some bikes from Wilderness Guides on Picton waterfront then bike straight to the start of the Link Pathway Track up the Queen Drive.
There are loads of options for mountain biking in Picton but the Link Pathway is a full one day track or half day if you return halfway along the Link Pathway track. The gradient is relatively steady on the Link Pathway in Picton so it’s even good for beginners like us.
The Link Pathway in Marlborough has some awesome views of the Marlborough Sounds, making another reason as a good alternative to the Queen Charlotte Track. By trailing through native forest and having epic views of the Queen Charlotte Sound along the way, the Link Pathway is one of the best places for mountain biking in Marlborough.
So what do you think of mountain biking in Picton? Is the Link Pathway in Marlborough something you would add to your New Zealand bucket list?

A day in Picton (New Zealand) | M-Blog.cz
We spent two days in Picton. This small city is main connection point between north and south island. Most of people spend here just a few hours, but I think it is worth to spend more time in this city - there is a lot things to see. I focused on landscapes in this video, so just watch and enjoy.

-- About this video --
Today we are getting away from the coast and exploring the lesser known areas of the South Island West Coast, this time it is Lake Brunner and Moana.
We arrive in the peaceful town of Moana on the edge of Lake Brunner which is the start of many hikes in the Lake Brunner area. We head for a Lake Brunner hike that starts from the swing bridge.
We walk along the lakeshore of Lake Brunner and its many peaceful beaches. These are where you can get some awesome views of the mountains and the dark reflective lake.
Then we head into the forest to do the Rakaitane Track, this is a return walk through podocarp forest. Another amazing forest walk in New Zealand!
After a day of hiking at Lake Brunner, we check into our accommodation at the Lake Brunner Resort then head down to the pub for a live band and a game of rugby!
So what do you think of the Lake Brunner Walks? Would you visit Lake Brunner? Let us know in the comments!

Founders Heritage Park in Nelson - New Zealand's Biggest Gap Year – Backpacker Guide New Zealand

30 Tips for Backpacking in New Zealand ➜
-- About this video --
Today we are in Nelson city and we have been recommended to visit the cheap and cheerful Founders Heritage Park in Nelson. It’s only around NZ$7 to visit, so why not?!
Founders Park in Nelson is set up like an old European settler town from around 100 years ago in New Zealand. We enter under a giant windmill and see mock-up houses of early New Zealand settlers. There are phone booths to use, old printing houses and a general store made showing old New Zealand items. We are then surprised to see a real bakery inside the mock bakery. There are real businesses operating in Founders Heritage Park in Nelson! We get ourselves some cookies from Ruk n’ Co and continue exploring Founders Park.
Fire station, hospital, bus station: it’s all here! After visiting a mini museum about New Zealand breweries, we find a real life brewery at Founders Brewery. We get ourselves an affordable and generous tasting tray to try some New Zealand craft beer at Founders Brewery.
Before we leave Founders Park we have to check out the giant airplane which you can explore the inside of.
So what do you think of Founders Heritage Park in Nelson and Founders Brewery? Would you add Founders Park and Founders Brewery to your New Zealand bucket list?

Oparara, West Coast
A travel and tourism guide to Oparara near Karamea aimed at people taking roadtrip holidays around New Zealand. The focus is mainly on providing information for visitors who are self-driving visitors touring around in both cars and camper vans. We look at the walks and the scenery in the area. In particular we talk about limestone formations, the walk and the views.
If you’re interesting in getting more detail about walks around Oparara you could have a look at these links:
At roadtripnewzealand we believe that New Zealand is the best worlds best country to tour by car or camper van and we want to share our love of driving holidays with every interested traveller.
For more information about taking selfdrive road trips around through NZ then you have to go to roadtripnewzealand.com and see it all on the map.
roadtripnewzealand.com
roadtripnewzealand.co.nz
That way you can see where everything is when you’re planning your travel itinerary. There’s a bunch of other useful information there about road safety and driving that we hope will be useful for visitors to New Zealand and help keep them safe while they’re here.
Our goal at roadtripnewzealand is to provide the best content on the web for people who are looking for New Zealand’s choicest little places. We don’t focus on places you hear about all the time like Queenstown, Auckland, Rotorua and Milford Sound, we’re more interested in the special little places that make us glad we live in New Zealand. It’s our personal view of our country, what we like and what we love and we hope to give visitors the inside running on the best places to see and the best things to do.
The excellent music is licensed from Alan Ferguson who wrote and performed it and is a total legend.
New Zealand Road Trip (Vlog #1 Rotovegas)
This is a short vlog of a bunch of us going down to Rotorua for a spontaneous weekend away from the big smoke. Didn't get as much footage of everyone as I wanted but we were all having so much fun that we all forgot about photos and shit...somethings those are the best weekends.
Filmed and edited by myself
Music: A$AP Rocky - A$AP Forever REMIX (Audio) ft. Moby, T.I., Kid Cudi
If you want to know more about Rotorua here is some information I got off the web:
Rotorua, a town set on its namesake lake on New Zealand's North Island, is renowned for its geothermal activity and Maori culture. In Te Puia’s Whakarewarewa Valley, there are bubbling mud pools and the 30m-tall Pohutu Geyser, which erupts many times daily. It’s also home to a living Maori village and the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, with traditional wood carving and weaving schools.
