Sandy River Fishing Spots | Sandy River Coho Chinook Steelhead | Oxbow Park Fishing
Sandy River Fishing Spots | Sandy River Coho Chinook Steelhead | Oxbow Park Fishing
Hey There Angling Addicts!
After our last trip to the Clackamas River, I decided that I wanted to get over to the Sandy River and check on the conditions. As of this time, the water is still super low and quite clear. With such low flows all throughout the summer and into early fall, there are still a decent number of salmon and steelhead in the system. These are older fish but they are still fun to catch and a little practice never hurts. I didn't see as many fish on the Sandy River as I had opposed to the Clackamas River, but I still managed to land a couple nice native Chinook.
With rain in the forecast I am anticipating that these low flows will quickly disappear and we will be right back to our higher flows for the rest of the season.
The last Chinook that I land on the video was caught with a homemade lure that I had created the night before. I wanted to make something that would better fish these deeper pools and channels. After several attempts with other equipment I switched to my lure and was on a fish within minutes.
I'm going to make a variety of these lures for different conditions and keep field testing them for the winter season. LURES ARE NOW AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE @
As always, we appreciate the interaction and support from all of our viewers. Thanks to those of you who have already subscribed and to those who are about to!

Florida Keys Overseas Highway is named All-American Road
The Florida Keys Overseas Highway, from just north of Key Largo to Key West, is now an All-American Road.
The designation was announced Friday by Federal transportation officials, during a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
The Keys highway is the only All-American Road in Florida. It's the highest recognition possible under the National Scenic Byways program established by the U.S. Congress in 1991. Only 30 other roadways in the nation have earned the prestigious title.
Originally completed in 1938, the Overseas Highway incorporates 42 bridges over the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Florida Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. They include the Seven Mile Bridge at Marathon, which stretches 6.79 miles across open water and was referred to on its completion as the eighth wonder of the world.
Under the Federal Highway Administrations National Scenic Byways program, roads can be recognized as National Scenic Byways or All-American Roads based on their archeological, cultural, historic, natural, recreational and scenic qualities.
To earn All-American Road status, a thoroughfare must possess characteristics of national significance and features that don't exist elsewhere, making it a visitor destination in itself.
The Overseas Highway follows a trail originally blazed in 1912 when Standard Oil millionaire Henry Flagler completed the extension of his Florida East Coast Railroad from Miami to Key West. Construction of the highway began after the railroad ceased following a 1935 hurricane.
In 1982, 37 of the original bridges including the Seven Mile Bridge were replaced with wider spans. Most of the historic bridges still stand alongside the newer ones and now serve as fishing piers for anglers.
