We had a day off from following the World Jet Boat Marathon, so we did a bit of boating in a very beautiful part of New Zealand

i did this vid on our first trip to Makarora, New Zealand South Island with me family. It really was awesome (in the true sense of the word) and Simon was a great host/captain. Thoroughly recommend this hour long trip. Very memorable and the beautiful scenery goes without saying down in these parts.
Next trip will combine the helicopter and tramp i guarantee.

Our first Run in the new PDS Marine limo (Boat) and first run with the Otago Branch since moving back down. This was done on a special uplifting to allow us access. Luckily a bit of rain & snow melt gave us plenty of water to allow this event to go ahead. This is a bit longer than my usual videos because its quite a busy river to navigate and its not boated very often. . 2nd bit is better viewing, the upstream leg was hard to see because of the sun glare

23 January 2019 the New Zealand Trails Short South tour group took a rainy jet boat down the Makarora River and up the Wilkin River because... well, why not? Stinging rain would be a good description. This video starts about 1/4 of the way into the trip after turning onto the Wilkin River and ends with the boat picking up two hikers who couldn't go any further on their trek due to the rising waters making fording the river unsafe. Speaking roles: Paul Wilde as the camera man, Courtney Kerin as the tour guide (and Kiwi kayaker extraordinaire), and Max Wilde as the segue from the insanity of us to the insanity of others. Hand-held using a GoPro Hero Session without the benefit of a view-screen.
