Discover Russian River Wineries HD 2012
WineQuesters.com brings you a brief overview of Sonoma County's Russian River Valley wineries. See what is there and why visit this wonderful wine region.
The Russian River Valley is a large area of low hills and agriculture influenced by cool coastal breezes and fog. It is perfect for Pinot. Exploring this region involves driving quiet country roads and exploring small towns. If you want to walk instead of drive you have that option in Healdsburg. Healdsburg has a beautiful town plaza in the center with quality shopping and restaurants in the town core. There are also a LOT of tasting rooms, over 20, to keep you busy for days, or even years.
Traveler services are centered in Santa Rosa and Healdsburg with some services in Windsor. Healdsburg is a wonderful small town to hang out in but is more expensive than Santa Rosa. Santa Rosa has a wide range of hotels and restaurants and the downtown has been nicely redeveloped. You can't go wrong staying anywhere in the region.

What I Drank Yesterday Peay Winery from the Extreme Sonoma Coast
I remember the first time that I tasted the wines of Peay winery. When Andy Peay came by the store and tasted me on the first release of the wines. They were outstanding and it was clear to me that this would soon be one of the great small boutique Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah producers of California.
This is an informative wine production highlighting the wines at the Wine Watch, in Fort Lauderdale. It is intended as a companion to Wine Watch Email offers. For more information please visit winewatch.com

John Haw, Winemaker at Jacob Williams Winery
John Haw’s experience started with Warner Vineyards and Leelanau Cellars in Michigan back in 1972. As his career blossomed he ventured to Oregon where his family was from, landing him at Shafer Vineyars in Forest Grove for his first introduction to Oregon wines. He continued on to Sokol Blosser for 11 years, which led him to Pedroncelli in Dry Creek California and finally he found his way to the Columbia Gorge, first working for Maryhill and then finding his home with Jacob Williams. He believes the Columbia Gorge has the BEST wine growing region in the nation.
John carefully hand-selects each vineyard and allows the vineyards to dictate what the style will be. Aging his wines for up to 36 months, John’s experience and dedication continues to produce premium award-winning wines year after year.
Jacob Williams is a family owned boutique winery located in the beautiful Columbia Gorge and named in honor of Brad Gearhart’s two sons, Jacob and William. For over a decade, Brad and 40+ year wine-making veteran John Haw have dedicated themselves to producing high-quality wines sourced from the finest vineyards in the region.
Currently producing Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Zinfandel and Sadie Red, a special vintner’s blend named after the family dog.
