Willowbank Wildlife Reserve was one our first ‘tourist’ days out when we first arrived in Chch, NZ.
We highly recommend taking a visit to this wildlife park. It’s a great way to see some native NZ animals and birds. You can be super interactive with them too as you can see. They also have an awesome conservation programme happening there... check them out here ????

- Woke up to lots of green unlike the last few days
- Drove 1.5hrs to Christchurch
- Stopped by Grower's Market to get some fruits
- Visited Willowbank Wildlife Reserve where we saw so many animals including Kiwis!
- Checked into our final Holiday Park of the trip
- Cooked Dinner in the freezing lounge even though we blasted the heater
- Started packing :(

Entire Willowbank wildlife reserve in 8 minutes or less. Willowbank wildlife reserve, located on Hussey road, in Christchurch New Zealand, is home to many native birds and animals to new zealand, such as kea, kiwi, takahe, wekas, pukekos, and many more.
The park has a kiwi tour, and also a lemur encounter, with ring tailed lemurs.

New Brighton is a coastal suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand. There have been two piers in New Brighton. The first pier, of wooden construction, opened on 18 January 1894 and was demolished on 12 October 1965. The current concrete pier was opened on 1 November 1997.[3] It is one of the icons of Christchurch.
With over 40 stores, including flagships Countdown, The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Number 1 Shoes and Lincraft, a 300 seat food-court, 1100 car parks and two late nights, you’ll find what you’re looking for. Eastgate is well located on the intersection of Buckleys Road and Linwood Avenue, Christchurch.

We had an amazing time visiting Willowbank zoo in Christchurch. It was our last full day of our South Island campervan trip so we wanted to give the kids a chance to have some fun and see a Kiwi in New Zealand!
Willowbank was a surprise. We expected somewhere small but it was massive and we had hours of fun seeing animals from near and far. You can even feed many of the animals too, and we saw a few international animals we have never seen... and we saw kiwi birds!
