London walk: Wimbledon train station to Wimbledon tennis via Wimbledon Village
Walk to the Wimbledon tennis from Wimbledon train and tube station via Wimbledon Village. It's Wimbledon Fortnight which means Wimbledon is buzzing and the streets are thronging with people keen to get a view of a top tennis match plus some strawberries and cream. I started early to join the long line of people walking up the hill from Wimbledon station and through Wimbledon Village to the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Those roads and pavements were busy! Wimbledon Village was resplendent, it truly is a lovely spot; the shops and eateries put up tennis paraphernalia and as I walked through, some horses from the local stables managed to made an appearance:)
Please note, this is the walk from Wimbledon train station. The nearest tube station is Southfields.

Living in Wimbledon Village. This video shows aspects of living in the award nominated community, Wimbledon Village located in West Seneca New York. As a resident Realtor I have served the real estate needs of the Village for over 25 years.
Eagle House, Wimbledon Village
An extensive refurbished, extended and converted Grade II* listed Jacobean building has transformed into 8 luxury apartments, resulting in a truly exquisite and unique landmark building.
This prestigious building is located in a prime location in Wimbledon Village, ideally placed for Wimbledon Common, Richmond Park, Wimbledon All England Lawn Tennis Club, golf clubs including the Royal Wimbledon Golf Club, riding stables – and the chic boutiques, popular restaurants and bars of The Village High Street. The extensive shopping facilities offered by Wimbledon town centre are only a mile away. There are excellent schools located nearby – such as King’s College School and The Rokeby School.
Eagle House is within 2 miles of the A3 which provides access into and out of central London (Hyde Park Corner 9 miles; M25 J10 17 miles), with Heathrow airport only 17 miles away. Public transport is available via numerous bus routes and the Wimbledon mainline and underground station is only 0.75 miles away, with a journey time to London Waterloo of 19 minutes.
These luxury apartments, of which only 7 will be offered for sale, provide a mixture of 2 and 3 bedrooms, with lift access to the upper floors, private parking and access to a landscaped communal garden, all set behind a secure gated entrance. The apartments’ specification and finish also include the latest technology with interior design by the highly regarded Michaelis Boyd Associates of London.
