VLOG: Windsor, UK | Windsor Castle + Windsor Royal Shopping
*OPEN FOR MORE DETAILS*
It was actually a really gloomy day because of the rain but nevertheless, we queued for about 30 mins and finally managed to enter the Castle. Unfortunately, the famous places inside the castle, like the Doll House, didn't allow photography, so there isn't much footage. But hope you like it!

Best places to visit UK. Windsor - Royal Borough of Windsor. Windsor Town and Windsor Castle. 2019
BEST PLACES TO VISIT IN England, UK.
Windsor is a town on the River Thames in southeast England, just west of London. It’s home to Windsor Castle, a residence of the British Royal Family. Built by William The Conqueror in the 11th century, the castle was extensively remodelled by subsequent monarchs. Public tours take in the State Apartments, which contain opulent furnishings, and paintings from the royal art collection.
In the castle grounds, the fan-vaulted, 15th-century St. George’s Chapel holds royal tombs including that of Henry VIII, George V and Charles I. Boat trips provide views of the castle from the river. The Magna Carta was signed at riverside Runnymede in 1215. Windsor Great Park was once a royal hunting ground, and its 5,000 acres of gardens, woodland and grassland are open to the public. The Royal Windsor Horse Show (May) and Royal Ascot (June) horse races at the nearby Ascot Racecourse are often attended by members of the royal family. The Legoland Windsor Resort theme park is just outside town.
Video we took of our walk at the Royal Borough of Windsor . We were lucky to see changing of the guard when we got there.

Virtual Walk Along Windsor High Street - Castle & Shops - Royal Windsor - September 2019 | kittikoko
Windsor is a historic market town and unparished area in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, England. It is widely known as the site of Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of the British Royal Family.
The town is situated 21.7 miles (34.9 km) west of Charing Cross, central London, 5.8 miles (9.3 km) southeast of Maidenhead, and 15.8 miles (25.4 km) east of the county town of Reading. It is immediately south of the River Thames, which forms its boundary with its smaller, ancient twin town of Eton. The village of Old Windsor, just over 2 miles (3 km) to the south, predates what is now called Windsor by around 300 years; in the past Windsor was formally referred to as New Windsor to distinguish the two.
Windsor Castle & Town of Windsor, England
It was a beautiful, sunny day when we visited the charming town of Windsor, England and the historic castle located there....Windsor Castle. The castle, which dates back to the 11th century is famous for being a residence of the royal family. While Queen Elizabeth conducts her primary duties while at Buckingham Palace in London, it is here she lives for the most part. Often, she will also conduct some of her duties while here. We were told that while we were here, she was in residence for the day, but did not have the chance to catch a glimpse of her.
As is expected, the castle is rich with history, St. George's Chapel is the place of worship that is located there. It has also held notable weddings, and is the burial place for many royals. The list of weddings and burials is to long to list here, but can be found by clicking on the following link:
When one first arrives at the castle, there is the opportunity to get a free tour of the overview of the castle before we are left on our own - our tour guide was charming, as well as funny.
The grounds of the castle are beautiful with colorful gardens. Coming for a visit here was one of the highlights of our England vacation. This included walking about the charming town of Windsor, quite a bit to see here as well, with many cafes to choose from. The old railway station has been converted into a nice shopping mall - we had arrived by bus; we took the train back to London. A wonderful day well spent.
Ed did all of the camcorder filming and narrations heard (with the exception of the voice of our tour guide). I did all of the other work of editing & uploading to You Tube.

Virtual Walk Through Alexandra Gardens - Windsor, UK - September 2019 | kittikoko
Plans to create a riverside garden in this area date from 1893 although the possibilities must have been discussed for some years prior to this, as in 1895, land had been purchased, and by 1902 the gardens were sufficiently complete to permit the planting of a London Plane tree in August 1902 to celebrate the Coronation of Edward VII and his Queen, Alexandra.
A bandstand was also erected and the band of the Royal Horse Guards played there regularly.
A replacement bandstand was built in 2016 – a Royal Borough heritage project was awarded a grant from the Armed Forces Community Covenant, celebrating the unique and long-standing links between the Queen, armed forces and Windsor.
It also commemorates the Queen as the longest-reigning monarch in British history and in turn the longest-reigning Head of the Armed Forces.
The role of the armed forces is explored in the six commemorative plaques on the bandstand by illustrative artist Rebecca Elliott.

Windsor is situated 23 miles (37 km) west of Charing Cross, London, 7 miles (11 km) south east of Maidenhead, and 21 miles (34 km) east of the county town of Reading. As a result of the castle, Windsor is a popular tourist destination and has facilities usually found in larger towns: two railway stations, a theatre and several substantial hotels. Various boat trips operate on the River Thames, with connections to Maidenhead and Staines-upon-Thames. In winter, Alexandra Gardens hosts a temporary ice rink. Near the town is Legoland Windsor, the only Legoland park in the United Kingdom and the largest Legoland park in the world in terms of area. Legoland Windsor was built on the site of the former Windsor Safari Park.
Windsor is accessible from Junction 6 of the M4 and from Slough via a 3 mile long dual carriageway. Windsor has two railway stations. Windsor & Eton Central railway station has a shuttle service to Slough. Windsor & Eton Riverside station provides a service to London Waterloo. Windsor is linked to the town of Eton (on the opposite bank of the River Thames) by Windsor Bridge.
