Cross Channel Adventure to: Roscoff and Morlaix
In this Haven Knox-Johnston Cross Channel Adventure, John and his team visit Roscoff, known for its picturesque architecture and also as the car ferry port and the departure point for Breton agricultural produce. A ferry port might seem an unusual destination for a cross channel adventure, however, just 5-minutes away from the Ferry port is the brand new Bloscon Marina that aims to be the top marina on the Brittany coast, offering every facility a boat owner could possibly need.
Roscoff offers a wonderful selection of places to eat and to explore the best French cuisine, whilst the town centre has a constant buzz created by locals and visitors. If, like many, you are also looking to stock up on French wine, Roscoff is the perfect place to do this affordably.
A little further away, Saint Pol de Leon, known for its 13th century cathedral has all the atmosphere and charm of a Brittany town – but without the hustle and bustle of the ferry traffic.
Just a few nautical miles east of Roscoff is the town of Morlaix, which lies in a deep valley 8 miles up tidal river and through lock gates. One of the appeals of Morlaix is that all the facilities are within easy walking distance, making it popular with young visiting families. The river runs dry during low tides in this area, so it is vital to research the best times to visit, however once inside, mooring is easy in a peaceful setting.

First, this is a street food festival in Ho Chi Minh City in 2015,
taking place in the Pham Ngu Lao parc near Bui Vien Street,
Many tourists and locals discovered street food dishes from all Asia, and also some European stalls (Italian, Danish, Spanish).
Second was during the Gastronomy food and Wine exhibition in France, BREST. Locals merchands promoting their goods, so many cheeses, pastries and of course wine to taste in that kind of event!

How To Use The Metro in Paris & Best Apps for Paris Metro Map
How to Use the Metro in Paris: Follow me around the city as I explain exactly how to use the Paris metro system - how to identify a metro station, how to buy Paris metro tickets, how to read the Paris Metro Map, navigate the Paris metro stations and get to where you need to go!
Using The Paris Metro is a great way to discover Paris. When you visit Paris is a good idea to learn how to use the metro (subway). With its 301 stations, the Paris Metro is one of the most extensive underground transportation systems in the world.

There are over 300 stations being serviced by 16 Metro lines, so exploring the city underground is super easy!
Most lines run from 5.30am to 12.30am Monday – Friday, with weekends keeping lines running until 2.15am. Departure times of the first and last trains differ with each station during these times. But if in doubt, there is a chart on the wall of every station (either at the station entrance or on the platform) listing the departure times for both the first and last trains leaving that particular station.
Insider Tip: the RER trains look similar to the Metro, but it is actually a different train system. If you decide to travel further into France from Paris, then this would likely be via the RER trains meaning your Paris metro tickets won't do. But if staying inside Paris only, it’s the Metro you want. The Metro stations will either have a large M over the entrance, or be called Metro or Métropolitain.
When it comes to the Metro, the lines are all colour-coded and numbered, keeping things nice and simple. Each line travels in two separate directions, which is indicated by the start and end stations on each line. For instance, when looking from left to right on the Metro map, line 1 starts in La Défense and ends in Château de Vincennes.
There are also some stations that serve more than one line, whereas some stations serve just one Metro line only. On the map, it’s super easy to spot those stations operating on more than one line, as they show a white circle or oval shape across all of the lines running through that station.
Still wondering how to get around in Paris? Using the Paris Metro system need not be stressful - Citymapper Paris and Paris Metro are two great apps to have in your pocket.

Otis? Traction elevators on board the BC Ferries Queen of New Westminster - Part I
This is the first elevator of two on board the Queen of New Westminster operated by BC Ferries in British Columbia, Canada. Both elevators on board this ferry were recently modernized during the overhauling of this vessel sometime in the past 1 or 2 years. I believe these fixtures are Otis and are very nice fixtures. These are probably some of my favorite modern fixtures on todays elevators. I do not recall the brand of these elevators when they were new. The Vessel was originally built in 1962 or 1963. These clips were recorded on October 18, 2009 on a sailing two Swartz Bay.
