Drinking Argentinian Wine with Friends in Buenos Aires Travel Video Transcript:
Wine tasting!
So it is our last night in Buenos Aires and we are hanging out with two of our friends Kristin and Steve. And we actually just finished filming a video of our dinner. We had some steak with Steve, so you can see that video on his channel.
He's already had a few drinks in case you can't tell. But we figured let's take the after party over to our apartment. So we've bought some local Argentine wine.
And now it is dessert time and wine.
We needed something a little bit sweet to go along with the wine. So this is our dessert today. We are having Queso y Dulce. So that is basically cheese with three different types of sweets. Is he drinking behind the scenes? Hahahaha.
Anyways, let's have a quick look here. So we are having membrillo which is quince, batata which is sweet potato and zapallo which is pumpkin. And the most important thing is this is your first time to try it.
It is now time to rate the wine.
So okay. We started with the Merlot from 2012. Which was on the shelf of the 2014. Just to point it out. So, okay here comes the Merlot. Oh, it was the bread one. I remember it is the bread wine. I have it in my nose now. Oh, it is a very nose-y wine.
So it smells like bread. It tastes like bread. It tastes a bit like bread. But um, it is not too shabby. It is a solid wine. It is not too sweet but it gets you drunk. All the wines do but this one. It is a good wine. A solid one. I would not say it is 1st place. No.
Next one is Benjamin. Rose. Rose. Benjamin. It is still like drinking canned peaches. Canned peaches. The sugary one. It gets the job done but maybe I'll have a horrendous hangover tomorrow. We're not supposed to think about that right now, right?
From like four. The white wine we are saving that for later. We're just going to say that was an average one. And we're moving on to this one. The Cafayate Malbec.
So we did this whole trip like two months in Patagonia so we were going down from Buenos Aires, where we are right now, flying into Bariloche crossing into Chile going down the Carretera Austral, doing some crazy adventures there, going back into Argentina to El Chalten to do hikes there and then Torres del Paine to finish this whole thing up. And this is actually the thing we did. The whole video series about adventures in Patagonia which is about to come out on my channel soon. And what is the name of your channel. BackPacker Steve. Yes. Backpacker Steve. The footage is amazing. Like it is incredible. Drone footage, high quality and us. And the two of you. That is a winning combo.
Guys I write a travel blog Be My Travel Muse dot com which is geared towards solo travelers in general but especially adventurous women or want to be adventurous women who want to try something new and challenge themselves. I've written a book about how you can travel on your own and I also have a budding YouTube channel so check out Be My Travel Muse and subscribe. Bye!
Bedtime. Ciao Argentina! The wine is so good. And now we're going to go catch a flight tomorrow. And we're out of here. That's it.
This is part of our Travel in Argentina series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Argentine culture, Argentine cuisine, Argentine food, Argentinian food & Argentinian cuisine.

Argentina for the Foodie & Wine Lover - Buenos Aires, Uco Valley Mendoza
From the capital city to a unique spot in within the Mendoza wine region, this video highlights some of the best of Buenos Aires and the Uco Valley. It's a perfect destination to visit with friends and family.
In Buenos Aires you can catch a football game as lively as premier league in England, see people dancing Argentine tango in the streets, and eat great food to your heart's content. This remarkably European feeling city is filled with beautiful architecture and lots of boho spots to hang out.
The Uco Valley is considered one of the best sub-regions of Mendoza for wine making. Located at a higher altitude, a unique alluvial terroir and extreme day/night temperature differences make for excellent grape growing conditions. Vast views of the Andean mountains and smaller crowd make this region perfect for exploring!

Argentine wines have been making a buzz on the international market. Argentine vineyards in Mendoza, and other regions, have the ideal temperature, climate and soil to grow world class wines. The most famous vineyards are located beneath the Andes, they produce excellent red wine thanks to dry climate and rich soil.
Argentina has some of the best wines in the world because it has different types of soil. For example, Mendoza produces some of the best wines, also San Juan, this is why we have 'Syrah' of San Juan and the Cabernet and Malbec of Mandoza and the Pinot of the South. Only few years ago, most of Argentine produced wines were consumed locally.
Recent years, with massive investment and the further opening of the Argentine economy, production standards have been increased to match the world's best wines. Could you tell me a little about a good Malbec wine? OK, for example, we have the D.V. Catena, which is one of the best Malbecs from Mendoza - this is the Malbec. Malbec which is like a Cabernet in that it can be accompanied with beef.
Could you tell me the prices? The Malbec is 85 pesos, Syrah is 60 pesos, and the Chardonnay is about 60 pesos. I am Ande Wanderer, showing you Buenos Aires. Salute!
Argentina's Wine Country ???? It's Not What We Expected! Mendoza Wine Tour. This is Hotel Club Tapiz.
We stayed at the a beautiful, small boutique hotel (Finca) called Club Tapiz just outside of Mendoza, Argentina in an area called Maipu. Maipu is a very popular area for wine in the Mendoza Region. While here we take you on a full tour of the hotel, including the old winery, the grounds including the pool, the restaurant and the gardens. We also take you on a tour of our room.
Later we head about 20 minutes away from Club Tapiz to their winery. Here we get to go on a full wine tour of the property and the vineyards. This ended up being one of the best wine tours we’ve ever done. It happened to be harvest season when we visited and therefore got an inside look (and taste) of the full wine making process. While here we got to taste wine is the various stages of production, even right out of the barrel. We also got to taste one of their best wines, a Malbec. Mendoza is best known for being the main producer of Malbec and you must try it when coming to the region.
Lastly, before we left the winery we got to visit the Llamas which live on the premisses!

What to do in BUENOS AIRES. Best City in South America? Travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina ????????
What should you do in Buenos Aires, Argentina? Well we visit Buenos Aires for the first time and found some absolutely amazing things to do in the city!
We start things off in the Japanese Gardens (Jardín Japonés)! These gardens are quiet and idyllic and feel like an oasis in the middle of the city, they also happen to be the largest gardens of their type outside of Japan.
Next up was a very famous place in Buenos Aires and must-do while in the city- La Recoleta Cemetery. This is considered one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world and contains the graves of some of the most famous and notable people in Argentinian history.
After this we headed to another super notable place in Recoleta, a very famous bookstore called El Ateneo Grand Splendid. Just like the cemetery, it is considered one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world- mainly because it’s situated in a former opera house. You can still see where the stage (now a coffee shop), and opera boxes were.
Lastly we head back to the area we stayed in called Palermo Hollywood to grab some drinks and food. Buenos Aires is full of interesting and diverse restaurants, not just asado which you might expect- but also loads of international foods. We found a place called KOI Beer and Dumplings where we had both beer and delicious dumplings.
ABOUT BUENOS AIRES
Buenos Aires is Argentina’s big, cosmopolitan capital city. Its center is the Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately 19th-century buildings including Casa Rosada, the iconic, balconied presidential palace. Other major attractions include Teatro Colón, a grand 1908 opera house with nearly 2,500 seats, and the modern MALBA museum, displaying Latin American art.

6 Things To Do in Buenos Aires in 48 hours - Ski Argentina, Part 1
We spent 48 hours in Buenos Aires on our way to Barlioche to ski at Cerro Catedral. What can you do in Buenos Aires in 48 hours? Here are our suggestions:
1) Empanada Tour. Buenos Aires seems to have empanadas on every corner. We began our Argentina empanada tasting tour at Temple Palermo near our hotel, and continued throughout our trip. Stay tuned for Part 4 of the Argentina Ski VLOG to see our rankings of what we tried. In Buenos Aires, we had beef empanadas at Temple, Minga, and Don Julio, all in Palermo. We ranked them (1) Minga, (2) Don Julio (a lot of sauce in the empanada), and (3) Temple. All were good and very different - it was just a question of preference. Temple was like a hamburger patty in the empanada. Don Julio seemed to have sauce inside. Minga was just delicious, and we both got two orders.
2) Explore Argentine Shops and Street Fairs. There are quite a few street fairs in Buenos Aires, along with many unique stores that you cannot find in the U.S. or Canada. Our sample size was limited given our time constraints, but we preferred the Feria de Plaza Serrano on Calle Honduras (Serrano Plaza Fair on Honduras Street) because it was right in Palermo, which has a lot of great shopping itself.
3) Dinner at Don Julio Parrilla. A coworker who lived in Buenos Aires for six months recommended Don Julio for Argentine steak. It was a great recommendation. The decor was unique, the service was very attentive (constantly topping off water and wine), the beef was the quality of a top American steak house but about 1/4 the price. Following the Argentine peso's most recent unfortunate collapse, it would now be 1/5 the price.
4) Neighborhood Tour. We walked around Palermo on our first day, so we did a day tour with Signature Tours for most of the second day. They were great. We learned a lot about Argentine history, culture and politics. The tour was half a day.
5) Rapanui. This is an ice cream and chocolate store with only a few locations in Argentina. A great way to sample delicious sweets that you cannot find outside Argentina.
6) Tango Show. Our show, the Viejo Almacen Tango Show with optional dinner, included dinner, which was decent, but seemed to take up time. The show itself was across the street from the restaurant. We would recommend attending the show without dinner if you are in town for 48 hours. The dancers were excellent! There were also musicians who played music indigenous to the Andes.

There are numerous other superb places all about Buenos Aires and it is hard to slim it down to a single place. Just stroll down the streets and
stop anyplace that appears to be exciting. You are guaranteed to get a exclusive expertise, and great insight into the Argentinean nightlife!
For people who have a enjoy of wine, visiting the a lot of wineries in and around Buenos Aires is a definite ought to do on their itinerary. There
are a great deal of wine tours all all around Buenos Aires, but depending on your choice, some wine tours concentrate on a lot more than just
one location, permitting you to make the very best out of your expertise.
Relying on how long you have for the wine excursions, I recommend you not commence in Buenos Aires itself but start off out at the renowned
city right following to it, Mendoza. This is the greatest wine producing area in all of Argentina and it'll be sure to leave a lasting impression on
whoever visits. Nicely recognized for its intensive wineries, if there's only one area you get to go to, choose this one.
For these who only have a day to invest, attempt the Uco Valley Wine Tour. Some individuals say that this is the a single to try and there are
individuals that even examine it to the Napa Valley of California 25 many years in the past. It creates outstanding substantial altitude wines from
vineyards up to 1400m ft high.
For these who have three to four days to invest wine tasting, I advise even now sticking to 1 area but exploring diverse wineries. You'll be
amazed that some vineyards take up to a week or much more just to discover.
Consider heading on Ampora Wine Excursions, who consider you to some of the greatest regions in Mendoza these kinds of as Luján de Cuyo.
Lujan de Cuyo is a single of the most created wine areas. When there you'll check out their choice of the very best wineries like Bodega Achaval
Ferrer and Bodega Sottano. Most wine excursions are in modest public groups but choices are obtainable for individuals who want that private
further particular tour and 1 on 1 meetings with proprietors.
Also in Mendoza, try going to La Rural and their wine museum or if you are unpleasant organizing your very own wine tour, consider heading on
one particular with Magda Wine Tours, who are explained to provide an genuine wine tasting knowledge close to Mendoza.
If you can discover far more than one particular region, head for San Juan which is a tiny even more than Mendoza, but properly well worth if
you have ample time on your fingers. Knowledge the flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Chardonnay.
If you desire to stick closer to Buenos Aires, check out Rio Negro, which is said to generate some really great desert wines. If you do end by, do
not neglect to go to Vinedos Agrestis and Humberto Canale which supply a special perspective on wine in this place.

OUR ARGENTINA TRIP STARTS NOW! | Visiting Buenos Aires for 3 Days
Our Argentina trip starts now! The biggest travel and food series we've ever created is kicking off in this travel blog by visiting Buenos Aires for 3 days. Firstly, we highlight our flight from Toronto to Buenos Aires in the dead of winter in Canada arriving in Argentina in mid-summer - a 70 degree weather change!
Our first order of business in Buenos Aires is to grab great local food in Recoleta so we head over to one of favorite restaurants in the city Bodegon Norte to grab a meal consisting of Milanesa, salad, ravioli pasta with a bottle of Argentine wine. We then grab Argentine ice cream (helado) at Rapa Nui including dulce de leche flavour.
We start off day two with breakfast in Buenos Aires at La Biela having cafe con leche with media luna. Afterwards we check out the nicest bookstore in the city, and one of the most beautiful in the world, El Ateneo before grabbing pizza slices at Banchero. We finish the day off visiting Recoleta cemetery one of the most famous attractions in Buenos Aires.
For our last day in Buenos Aires we start off with facturas and coffee for breakfast before heading to Puerto Madero for a stroll and a ship museum. For lunch we have delicious Argentine parrilla (grilled beef) with Malbec wine.
Overall, this was our 3 days itinerary in Buenos Aires. We'll be back again soon!

OUR ARGENTINA TRIP STARTS NOW! | Visiting Buenos Aires for 3 Days:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine.
From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut.
While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.
