EMPTY STREETS & WINE TASTING IN HVAR ISLAND | Stari Grad | Sail Croatia Day 5 & 6 of 8
Hvar is one of the most popular islands in Croatia - in this vlog we travel to Stari Grad Old Town & taste wine at a winery... ⬇ Click 'Show More'
Hvar island in Croatia has a lot more to it than just the bars, winery spots, clubs and restaurants found in the main cruise port. In this vlog we explore Stari Grad, one of/if not the oldest town in Croatia. It's full of tiny streets, but not full of people!
Wine in Croatia is amazing. Trust us. While in Stari Grad we got the chance to taste a lot more Croatian wines at a local winery - an excursion as part of our Sail Croatia trip.
If you're considering visiting Hvar we highly recommend you also consider seeing Stari Grad, it may be small, but it definitely feels a lot more local and Croatian than it's older party brother.
Sail Croatia is known for it's Navigator cruise, it's more tailored towards the party vibe and younger crowds. We were so pleased to hear they also offer multiple other cruises and the Explorer cruise was right up our alley! See here for more details:

19. Sailing from Dubrovnik to Korcula | Wine tasting in Croatia | Sailing Croatia
This week on Sailing Kawai we start our Croatian journey in Lopud, one of the Elaphiti Islands, a short 6nm sail from Dubrovnik. It has 2 beautiful anchorages and we enjoy some quiet time on this carless Island. After 48hrs on the water we enjoy exploring the land and have a great first impression of the area.
After 2 days in Lopud and some favourable winds we head towards Mljet. The day starts with some easy sailing, 15 knots of breeze and Kawai loves the conditions flying up the coast at between 7-8 knots. Unfortunately the winds change direction and we are forced to tack for a couple of hours in strong winds before we reach Miljet.
Mljet looks beautiful, but with strong 40 knot winds planned for the coming days we head to Korcula for a more protected anchorage and fit in some wine tasting in the wine region of Lombarda. The countryside is green with well manicured vineyards. We spend the day wine tasting at a couple of local wineries and love the experience.
We then sail the channel between Korcula and Orebic, watching the kite surfers and wind surfers enjoy the conditions. It would be our final sail to escape the strong winds. The conditions are perfect, 15 knots of down wind sailing with just the head sail. We then shelter ourselves in Scedro.
About us:
Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai.
We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Gibraltar, Canary Islands and then across the Atlantic Ocean.
Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure. We really hope you enjoy and feel free to drop us a comment any time to chat or subscribe to follow along :)

Cracking Croatian Wine in Pelješac and Dubrovnik (Dalmatia)
Welcome to Pelješac Peninsula and Dubrovnik, in Dalmatia! In the third part of our Cracking Croatian Wine's Dalmatia series, we visit the old guards of Plavac Mali: Miloš Winery, Bura-Mrgudic Winery, and Kiridžija Winery, plus a strong newcomer Korta Katarina Winery. It was hard to cherry-pick the Croatian wine producers to feature in this episode, and we've selected these four because they make four distinctly different styles of Plavac Mali wines. If you would like to understand the sensory merits of Plavac Mali, these producers should not be missed.
As we travel along the Dalmatian coast, we also highlight other points of interest that you can add to your Dalmatia travel's itinerary, including the first two Croatian wine appellations, Dingač and Postup; the villages of Ston and Mali Ston, and Unesco World Heritage Site, Dubrovnik Old Town. Parts of the popular HBO series Game of Thrones was filmed in Dubrovnik.
After soaking up the Dalmatia sun-powered juice of Pelješac, we head to Proto Fish Restaurant, one of the best seafood restaurants in the country, and spotlight the seafood delights around the Pearl of the Adriatic.

Cracking Croatian Wine in Istria (Part 1/4)
Exotic Wine Travel goes to Istria, Croatia and visits Domaine Koquelicot, Konoba Morgan, Vina Fakin, Roxanich Winery, and Clai Winery.
The Istrian peninsula is surrounded on three sides by the Adriatic Sea and bounded by the Alps on the north, allowing a wide array of microclimates. The Istrian wine region touts the moniker “New Tuscany”. Driving through the countryside, it’s easy to see where the similarities lie. The towns, cuisine, and wine have a markedly Italian influence. It’s the land of Malvazija Istarska wine, Teran wine, Adriatic seafood, hand-rolled pasta, air-cured meat, award-winning Istrian olive oil, and prized Istrian truffles.
Check out part 1 of our 4-part series about Istria, Croatia to learn more about this leading wine and gastronomy destination.

Welcome to Split! We've heard so much about this little coastal town in Croatia that we knew we'd have to travel here soon. Fortunately grabbing a bus or train is easy via so we had a cheap and easy bus ride!
Split is definitely a beautiful place, the old streets have a lot of charm but it's got that coastal Croatian feel that you just can't avoid! Hopefully that comes across in this travel vlog anyway, it was Sep 2018 we visited.
Travel to Split seems really straight forward because of it's popularity and there is always a bus or boat coming and going! Getting in and out of the city is definitely straight forward and for the most part our journey from Zagreb To Split was painless.

Underwater Winery in Croatia | Travel Vlog
Croatia’s first underwater winery is on another level. Located just about an hour from Dubrovnik, in the town of Drace’, in the wine making peninsula of Peljasac, this winery offers you wine that is aged in a sanctuary under the sea. Wine tasting at this winery is an unparalleled experience if you team it up with a diving session to explore their process underwater. I was fortunate to get an invitation from the makers for a wine tasting session which left me speechless.
***TRAVEL VLOG 015***
I have been a traveller for more than a decade now but life always takes over, or, maybe we like to think so....i got busy just travelling, travelling and errr...just travelling. And along the way...at some point i had my child - a rockstar of a boy...and then i got busy being a 'travel-mom'...but something always was a constant - my 'travels'. My passion of exploring and loving the world, learning and experiencing new cultures, cuisines and meeting new people had become something that i could not just contain within me. I had to share it, make it the bigger picture and document it. Moush Travels is a labor of my love for the world coz i believe that we should all Live, Love, Explore!

Croatia Vlog | 48hrs Split
Croatia Vlog 48hrs in Split. This week's video we are taking a two day trip to Split and heading out island hopping, covering places to eat and what to drink.
Our day trip out on the catamaran was hosted by Summer Blues Catamaran Company.
We stayed at Boutique Hostel which was on the other side of the Promenade, near the boat harbor. If you are looking for a quieter place with great charm, I definitely recommend this and it is also quite budget-friendly.

The Hunt for The 'Original Zin': Zinfandel Wine in Croatia
Tricia and I, while on holiday in Croatia, embark on a hunt for the 'Original Zin.' Zinfandel wine, popularized by Croatian-native, Mike Grgich, in California, has been genetically traced back to the rocky slopes between the cities of Trogir and Split in Croatia. Our tour of this region, sponsored by Secret Dalmatia, includes an array of fresh Croatian cheeses, an amazing 4-course seafood dinner, and of course, some of the finest wines from Croatia.
