Pond Skimming 2014 at Wintergreen Resort, VA
What is a pond skimming? How about 70 feet of water in length, several feet deep, 40-45 degrees in temperature, with the object of skiing or snowboarding across the length of the pond. Some splash their way and some slide their way across. Every participant is required to be in costume (part of the judging criteria). This is the event of the season!

Lake Monocan, Wintergreen Resort
Lake Monocan, a 20-acre lake and park is located at Stoney Creek in the valley and is staffed daily with a lifeguard Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting. Snack bar, canoes, kayaks, fishing equipment, standard road bike rentals, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball court, sandy beach, lounge chairs, picnic area and outdoor charcoal grills are available.
