Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital and Thingwall Hall, Wirral.
Old British Pathe footage of the old Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital in Myrtle Street and it's long stay wing at Thingwall Hall on the Wirral.
In 1917 the Liverpool Infirmary for Children took over the administration of Thingwall Hall, near Barnston. This was a small country children's hospital which had recently been set up by two former nurses from the infirmary and was useful in providing care for more long term patients.
Interesting to note that the Royal Children's Hospital had a donations box screwed to the railings outside on the street. My bet is that it was never stolen. The construction was paid for by donations from shipping companies and the public. 2d per minute to keep the place running . . . . times have changed.

in this episode I decide to do a lap of the coast in search of a guy that went missing in the river the day before , I did rendezvous with local authorities and search and rescue on route to inform them where I had been and searched and where I was going that day . video made with youtube editor.

Something different for the winter but also for all ages and skills. A brilliant place to go that you can cycle and walk and the wildlife is spectacular. I saw Hen Harrier and Marsh Harrier. Well worth doing. If you enjoyed this please check out my UK walking films playlist

Walking from Loggerheads to Moel Famau (Part 2 of Wales and Wirral Wanders Vlog!)
Sometimes videos and vlogs just disappear into the ether of our computers and that is exactly what happened to part 2 of the Wales and Wirral Wanders Weekly Vlog from last year. (see it here:
Last year we had a bit of a staycation around the Wirral so explored North Wales. It is a good opportunity to hike some familiar hills and to enjoy showing them to Jit too.
In this video, so as not to make it well confusing, I have edited it to be mostly about the walk from Loggerheads Country Park to Moel Famau. It is nice to get a hike up here for a change and has reminded me that we need to find some new ones soon.
