Chase of WSOR L463 Devils Lake to North Freedom, 4051/4052 1/27/2015
On Tuesday I ventured up toward the Wisconsin Dells area, but before I got there heard WSOR 4051 West getting a warrant from Reedsburg Sub MP 160 to Rock Springs.
I waited to intercept the train as it snaked along the shore of Devil's Lake at 10 MPH. Sequentially numbered ex-MP, non-dynamic-brake SD40-2s power the 16 car train. Lead unit 4051 sports a rather musical P3 horn (actually, so does 4052).
Next we see the train pass through what is now the last wigwag crossing on the WSOR Southern Division. The one at Avoca on the ex-MILW Prairie Sub was removed at the end of October 2014 shortly after I caught it on the 24th.
A short distance west of there, they stop to shove their boxcars into the Baraboo industrial lead and set them out for RR Donnelly Printing. Then the power is seen from the Moore St. bridge as it emerges from the spur light, couples up to the remaining seven loaded gondolas, and continues west.
Finally the train is seen coming through North Freedom, a few miles east of Rock Springs and the location of the Mid-Continent Railway Museum, whose line (a spur that used to go to iron ore and quartzite mines) connects on the west side of town. This is actually the first time I've shot a non-museum train in this town.

Visiting Our State Fair - Wisconsin Garden Video Blog 789
See More Garden Goodies: - - - One of several summer events we enjoy supporting is visiting our state fair. The Wisconsin State fair has been operating since 1851 in Janesville, Wisconsin and moved to its current home in West Allis in 1892. President Abraham Lincoln spoke to farmers at the 1859 fair about embracing new agricultural methods that would help raise their standard of living. We like to attend as our way of showing support for the farmers, ranchers, 4-H Club, DNR, master gardeners, and local business entities, entrepreneurs and vendors. With low milk and beef prices it was interesting talking with exhibitors about the state of the farming community and some of the challenges they are facing, including finding reliable workers who will actually show up for work. So we’re off to see the cattle, horses, wagons, and of course Richard’s favorite stops, the goats. We will naturally have to stop and enjoy some very tasty treats as we walk through a colorful playground of rides, food, drinks, special events and presentations, and our famous Cream Puffs. If you haven’t been to your state fair, join us to see what you’re missing.

720 TPA 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air 235 CID Inline 6 3 Speed Manual
1953 Chevrolet Bel Air for sale in our Tampa Showroom. This survivor is is very solid and runs like a dream. The original numbers matching 235 CID inline 6 cylinder purrs like a kitten and the 3 speed manual shifts as smooth as butter. The interior is in excellent condition and is very comfortable and stylish. It is easy to see why these Bel Airs were so popular when you get behind the big steering wheel and gaze upon miles of shiny Chocolate paint and chrome anywhere and everywhere they could fit it! 1953 was the first year Bel Air referred to a trim level instead of an entirely different car and was when the Bel Air really took off as a legend leading to the tri-fives and of course the infamous 57 Chevy. When you can say a year and a make and everyone immediately knows what model you are talking about, it is a special car in the circle of collectors and hobbyist. The first generation Bel Air ranges from 1950-1954 and the 1953 was advertised as “entirely new through and through” due to body and interior restyling from previous years. Most prefer the lines of the 53 and 54 from the first generation as they were streamlined and very luxurious looking. Tons of chrome, a two tone scheme with Bel Air script laid in between the side moldings, and a very appealing grill make it hard to find a visual flaw in this design. According to the VIN this car was built in Janesville Wisconsin and is a real Bel Air with a 6 cylinder from the factory. Hub caps, bias ply tires, cloth interior, and fender skirts complete the list of options on this cruiser. This Bel Air has chrome hub caps on those big white wall tires but also comes with brand new hub caps in the trunk along with a new oil filter and a seat cover to keep the front seat looking this good for a long time. Located in our Tampa Showroom, this beauty can be seen in greater detail including HD pictures and video at GatewayClassicCars.com. For immediate assistance please call 813-645-6200 or email Tampa@GatewayClassicCars.com

WAMX (WSOR) 4191 leads manifest south at Janesville, WI on 2/26/17 with 30th Anniversary unit.
On Sunday, I had hockey in Janesville, and we caught this manifest coming into town and beat it to a grade crossing just south of the Rock river bridge and north or the WAMX Janesville Yard. We checked out the Union Pacific yard, but nothing was going on. We didn't get to Dubuque on Friday, but I have plenty of other stuff to upload from this past week/weekend, and we might see some trains on the CN near Fond Du Lac, WI this weekend.
