THAI STREET FOOD in Bangkok ♦ Chinatown on Yaowarat
Tonight we're taking you on a tasty journey through Bangkok's Chinatown on Yaowarat. Hope you come with an empty stomach because there is SO MUCH TO EAT! From various noodles to desserts, this street has got it all. Watch the video to see the munchies unfold :)
I've visited Chinatown BKK a couple times before during both the night and day. Today is my first time filming the area, so I'm excited to share the experience with you guys. I recommend stopping by on a weekend night when it's the most vibrant. There are things to enjoy during the daytime as well, such as the fresh market across Soi Yaowarat 11.
FYI: There are places selling Shark's Fin Soup. Please do not eat shark fin as finned sharks are often thrown back into the ocean alive, where they do not die peacefully: unable to swim properly and bleeding profusely, they suffocate or die of blood loss... Every year, humans kill an estimated 100 million sharks. Removing sharks in large numbers can have ripple effects that throw entire ecosystems out of balance (Smithsonian Institute). Read more here:

NEWEST Bangkok Hidden Gem | Shopping In Bangkok |
You will not often find this kind of place in Bangkok, and here it is the NEWEST top travel attraction in Bangkok for eating and shopping at the riverside, very popular and trendy among locals. That sounds cool, right ?
After visiting Siam Square, which they claim to be the place for 'all things cool' then we head to the new travel attraction called ' LHOING 1919 ' this is an old Chinese complex completely renovated in the original style. It is lovely and stylish and inspiring.
The place is full of special Thai boutiques selling beautiful things at prices that are not cheap but still fair for the quality you get. Some restaurants on site. It is now easy to get there taking the Chao Praya Tourist boat for 50 THB.

Lhong 1919 Bangkok is a 19th century Chinese mansion that has been fully restored and opened as an attraction. It mixes Bangkok heritage with shopping, dining and lots of interesting photo opportunities – it ticks all the boxes for a fun day out in Bangkok. The centre point of this old Chinese manor is the large shrine to Mazu, the Chinese goddess of seafarers. The air is heavy with the scent of incense and smoke and many people will kneel to say a prayer. As you walk around the courtyard and rooms, you can see period fixtures and artefacts displayed for visitors to see. In parts, it feels a little like a theme park recreation of what a 19th century Chinese mansion should be, but it’s still wildly popular with locals and visitors.
- Lhong 1919 Opening Hours: 09:00-22:00
- How to get there: To get to Lhong 1919, take the BTS to Saphan Taksin. In front of the station you’ll find Sathorn Pier. There are free shuttle boats to and from the pier, roughly every 30 minutes.
