Woburn Sands Is the UK's Grittiest MTB Park, Literally | United Kingdom of Dirt, Ep. 2

While many traditional sports prefer sunlight and good weather, adventure sports often require the full fury of Mother Nature to be practiced at their highest levels. We're reminded of this in the latest episode of United Kingdom of Dirt when Olly and Bren-dog travel to Woburn sands, an hour from the heart of London, and find that the weather has been too good to the sandy track.

You see, the trails and jumps that rider Matt Jones lovingly maintains prefer the damp, drizzly British-winter conditions to the warm sun of the summer. Today, the sandy soil is quickly turning into a series of dunes. No matter though, they boys attack them before heading on to jangle their knees on the pump track. There are few places in Britain where you can have this much fun for a measly five pounds.

We recently spent a really lovely weekend at Center Parcs Woburn with my sister and her boyfriend. It was great fun and so I made a little video all about it...

JUMPING & CRASHING 40 FT GAPS - WOBURN BIKE PARK MTB

Spectacular bails and clears of the mega Moto jump line and other trails at woburn on the Hero 7.

I crashed hard the first time on the 40 footer, then came back and did it a couple of times, got it good the last time!

There are loads of cool tracks at woburn, from loam and tight berms to the burn line, which finishes with the biggest hand built jumps in the uk.

Lots of the lines can be woven together in different combos, making it loads of fun to ride. It's a great step up from chicksands down the road.

The rampage drop is huge, blind, not straight, and has a tricky precise run out, going between an old jump lip and a ditch.. super sketchy.

Woburn Abbey - English Stately Home & Gardens | Milton Keynes | UK Days Out Travel Vlog

We visit Woburn Abbey, a privately owned stately home near Milton Keynes, England. The beautiful gardens were designed by landscape designer Humphrey Repton and the house and gardens are surrounded by a deer park. The house is still lived in by the Duke and Duchess of Bedford.
Woburn Abbey is part of the Historic Houses Association, so we were able to get in for free as part of our annual membership.
We also take a walk around Milton Keynes, where we stayed at a Travelodge for our weekend away.

'' woburn festival of the flower children '' - woburn abbey - 1967.

one of the first if not the first flower power/flower children/hippie festivals ever to be promoted in the u.k. august 26-28 at Woburn abbey...great line-up of bands including the move/eric burdon/small faces/the dream/jeff beck/denny laine/dantelions chariot and more....basic light shows/fairish crowds who look suspiciously like 'weekend hippies' bedecked in store brought clothes especially for the occasion...the counter culture hadn't really hit home yet with London being its centre...mind you this was a start and better things were to happen...some silent film here but I've put some music where appropriate...enjoy!...just had some new info from jeff dexter who informs me that the eric burden clip in fact comes from the 7th annual jazz & blues festival at Windsor....thanx jeff...
