BEST KRAKOW BARS, CAFE & CLUBS | Dolne Mlyny | Poland Travel Vlog 2018
We found the best spot in Kraków for cafes, bars and clubs! Dolne Mlyny is what Krakow and Poland travel is all about! ⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
An area called Dolne Mlyny around the Dolnych Mlynow (got the name wrong in the video) area has to be the spot for the best bars, best cafes and best clubs in Krakow - this place is honestly so cool. Even if you're not looking for a bar or club and just want a good restaurant and a casual scene then definitely check out Dolne Mlyny.
Poland continues to deliver gems like this, maybe it's just that Krakow has a new scene of cool bars and cafes developing, or maybe we're going to find it all over Poland - either way, the ' cafe scene ' as it's sometimes called is cool here and this vlog definitely shows that.

POLISH VODKA CHALLENGE | Vodka Tour Warsaw EatPolska | Poland Travel Vlog
A Polish vodka tour in Warsaw with EatPolska lead us to tasting the best vodka brands Poland has, including grass wodka! ⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
Vodka from Poland has an incredible back story - taking a vodka tour in Warsaw seemed like the best way to taste a lot of Polish vodka and learn more. In Krakow we took the best food tour in town with EatPolska and they invited/challenged us in Warsaw to join their vodka tour as well. If Poland is on your list you really should check them out here, they've been amazing:
The best Polish vodka brands, potato, old, new, cocktails and even bison grass vodka! This tour really had it all - definitely the best way to be tasting lots of brands and not feel like you're taking a risk ordering something random in a bar.
Before we tried any vodka from Poland we were a little hesitant, from our neck of the woods wodka is normally terrible and not used for shooting! Alas, we came around, Eat Polska has convinced us that the vodka in Poland is amazing!

Domowka Cafe - Krakow
A domowka in Polish translates to a house party and this is the spirit that has been created at this café. You can feel at home but yet be in a cosy environment where you can mingle with interesting people until the early hours. Domowka Cafe is located in the Jewish district of Kazimierz, possibly the trendiest part of the city.

Krakow Nightlife And How To Avoid Bar Scams
Krakow Nightlife: I show what nightlife in Krakow Poland looks like and where the most popular areas are. I also talk about common bar scams tried on tourists and how they were attempted on me.
HOW TO DRINK VODKA THE POLISH WAY
This is our guide in Warsaw telling us how to drink vodka in Poland. The first rule is you must eat food before and during your drinking session. This is so you don't get drunk and fall on the floor. Next it MUST be Polish vodka which is the BEST, and it must be VERY COLD. It is alway drunk straight and not ruined by mixing it with something. She goes on to tell how they start kids drinking it at age 12, and the grand-father is always the one to teach the child. The mother is always SHOCKED to see her child drinking, but the father is always PROUD. While in Poland we saw LOTS of drinking in the evening, but we never saw a drunk. Just happy people, chit chatting and having fun.

Krakow's Budget Delicacies
If you're heading to Poland, and Krakow in particular, there are two things you need eat. 1) Zepeikanki: aka the ultimate pizza baguette 2) Perogies or Polish dumplings.
The beauty of the cities is only rivaled by it’s traditional fare. In Kazimierz, Krakow’s Jewish quarter, Polish Jew’s are rediscovering their rich traditions and cuisine. At street side cafes you’ll find the most delicious Kosher Polish fusion in the world. Definitely try the Perogies, Polish dumplings filled with cabbage and potatoes.
Just a few blocks away in Ploc Nowy, the ‘hipster’ square, you’ll find vodka bars (aka Bania Luka) and beer gardens with drink and food all for just 75 cents a glass/plate. Be sure to try a Zapoekanka, Krakow’s ultimate drunk people food. It’s basically a huge French oven pizza smothered with mushrooms and cheese, and whole lot of ketchup on top for just 1$.
Krakow Food and Vodka Tour - $16!!!
Krakow Food and Vodka Tour - $15!!!
We LOVE food tours. In our past (big-spending) life, we took them often when we traveled. They tend to be expensive, so we haven't done one lately.
Walkative offers lots of free walking tours (we took 2 of them!). They also have a few paid tours. We booked a Food and Vodka Walking Tour of Krakow. At 60 Polish zloty per person ($16USD), it was the cheapest one we've ever taken. We didn't expect much so we were blown away that it was as good as tours we've done for 4 times the price.
We visited 9 locations and tried 1-5 items in each spot. Our guide was informative and enthusiastic (and, it was her birthday!).
The tour was in English and we HIGHLY suggest it.
This is the tour link -
We tried...
-2 types of soup
-pickles and pickled new cabbage
-3 types of sausage
-a huge sweet strawberry
-3 kinds of cheese
-rye bread
-pork liver pate
-savory and sweet pierogies
-a local fruity drink
-poppyseed cake
-FIVE kinds of vodka (plain, elderflower, honey, cherry and caramelized sugar)
Since Amy doesn't drink much, Tim expected 10 small shots to himself. Surprise! Amy drank the last 4.
After a breakfast that was so yummy (at Charlotte), we returned that same night for our last night's dinner. A delicious day in Krakow.

Polish DIY VODKA TASTING! + Delicious DONUTS (Pączki) - Wrocław, Poland
No trip to Poland would be complete without a Vodka tasting! We decided to do sort of a DIY tasting at a really cool pub called Przedwojenna (Prewar). Then we finish up the day trying some Polish donuts called Pączki!
Vodka has been produced in Poland since the middle ages. And it's no surprise, to attain the label Polish Vodka, it must be made with specific grains or potatoes grown in Poland. What's you favorite Polish vodka?

Krakow Budget Travel Tips
We spent 2 1/2 days in Krakow. That's not nearly enough time but our trip was cut short a full day thanks to a canceled flight. How did we make the most of our too-quick visit to this incredible city? We're answering that question in today's video.
If you're not traveling with young kids, a trip to Auschwitz is highly recommended. Yes, it's extremely sad but it's important to witness and to learn. Seeing the camps in person was an experience that can't be captured on film or in writing.
We booked a day trip on Viator.com that included tours of both Auschwitz as well as the Wieliczka Salt Mines tour - this is the tour we did - If your trip is short, we'd recommend taking this option. If you can give Auschwitz its own day, that would be better.
All 3 our of walking tours were through the same company, Free Walking Tour. 2 of them were, in fact, free. One was not. It was a Food and Vodka Walking Tour of Krakow and it was one of the highlights of our entire 9-week vacation. At $16 per person, it was a steal.
We also took their Old Town Tour and Jewish Krakow (free) walking tours. Many companies in Europe offer 1 or 2 free walking tours but this company offers 5 different free options. We would have liked to take them all.
A tour to Krakow should include a stop at Oskar Schindler's Factory. This museum covers the history of Krakow just before World War II through 1945.
With our top recommendations for things to do complete, we're ready for our favorite food suggestions.
Amy liked her breakfast tartine from Charlotte so much, we went back that same night for dinner so she could order it again.
We were thrilled with the quality and the price of ice cream in Krakow. Nakielny Cafe was close to our Airbnb and had gourmet cone selection. One scoop on a fancy con for 95 cents. Yes, that's correct.
The cheapest SIM card/internet Tim found in Europe made him thrilled.
Have you visited Krakow? Is it on your list? Do you have an amazing pierogi place for our next visit?
