Community Project of the Year 2019: Wolfville Farmers' Market
The Community Project of the Year award is presented to a not-for-profit organization or community group that has developed or implemented an effective project or event that engages their community in recycling and waste diversion activities.
This year’s Community Project of the Year started as a parking lot market, and has now become a healthy, vibrant, community marketplace.
The Wolfville Farmer’s Market currently houses over 65 farmers, chefs and artisans in their year-round, 9,000 square foot market. When their waste became a problem, they decided to tackle it head on.

Wolfville Farmers' Market - Stories for the Common Good
The Wolfville Farmers' Market is a not-for-profit cooperative with 22 member vendors, approximately 60 vendors attending every week and over 100 vendors on its roster. All of its vendors are producers (farmers, chefs and artisans) of their own products.
