The Baltic Sea | Aerial View | Island | natural video clip | nvc
The Baltic Sea is a marginal sea of the Atlantic Ocean, enclosed by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, northeast Germany, Poland, Russia and the North and Central European Plain.
An island or isle is any piece of sub-continental land that is surrounded by water.[1] Very small islands such as emergent land features on atolls can be called islets, skerries, cays or keys. An island in a river or a lake island may be called an eyot or ait, and a small island off the coast may be called a holm. A grouping of geographically or geologically related islands, such as the Philippines, is referred to as an archipelago.

Międzyzdroje, Wisełka i Woliński Park Narodowy | Wódz jeździ #10
Pozdrowerek!

Wolin is the name both of an island in the Baltic Sea, just off the Polish coast, and a town on that island. It is separated from the island of Usedom by the Świna river, and from mainland Pomerania by the Dziwna river. The island has an area of 265 km2 and its highest point is Mount Grzywacz at 116 m above sea level
Water from the river Odra flows into the Szczecin Lagoon and from there through the Peene west of Usedom, Świna and Dziwna into the Bay of Pomerania in the Baltic Sea.Most of the island consists of forests and postglacial hills.

West Pomerania, Poland - Unravel Travel TV
Unravel Travel TV visits Poland's West Pomeranian region to check the beaches and main cities along this area of the Baltic Coast, taking in the history and attractions and spas along the way.
Szczecin is the capital city of the region. Its turbulent history included the reign of Gryfit Dukes, the Danish Suzerainty, Brandenburg Dukes, the Prussian and Swedish Reign, the stationing of Napoleon's Soldiers and the Russian Army, as well as endless wars between economic prosperity. The Pomeranian Dukes' Castle is one of the largest cultural centres in the area, which towers over the Oder River while nearby, along the Chrobry Embankment is a large terrace offering great views over the river.
Szczecin has a slice of fame status related to the The Great Escape, as depicted in the Hollywood movie. It was here that three prisoners hid as after their spectacular breakout from the Nazi camp before travelling to their freedom northwards.
There are a number of hotels including The Radisson Blu Hotel which is centrally located and offers an excellent Baltica Wellness & Spa facility.
Wolin is Poland's largest island on the Baltic Coast which is mostly covered by the Wolin National Park which protects the sea cliffs, plants and rare birds. Closer to the heart of the island lies the town of Wolin which every year hosts the Festival of Slavs and Vikings. Warriors from all Europe visit to test their skills in combat and to showcase their traditions and crafts which range from making bread and, crafts, to the construction of a viking settlement.
A visit to the Gerhard's Fort provides a fine example of one of the best preserved 19th Century seaside forts in this part of Europe. It was constructed by Prussian fortifiers and was one out of four basic defence structures forming part of the Maritime Fortress of Swinoujscie.
The 189-km long Baltic seaside is one of the attractions, ideal for sunbathing, water sports and walking. Swinoujscie is a popular destination and a renowned health resort as well as a key Polish port. Here there are cycling lanes on both the Polish and German parts of West Pomerania as well as nine marked walking tourist trails, a 300 step climb to the top of its lighthouse and a 44 island kayaking trail. Swinoujscie can be accessed by boat from Scandinavian destinations.
Kolobrzeg, a large seaside resort and health spa, is often termed the Pearl of the Baltic Sea. Situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea, at the mouth of the Parseta River, it offers wide sandy beaches and an historic park. The micro-climate, natural resources of peat and salt saline are used in health and beauty treatments by most of the hotels which attract tourists and health spa patients year round. Kolobreg's attractions include sea cruises, fishing trips, biking and walking along its designated paths and trails. The Aquarius Hotel & Spa has been tastefully designed and offers an Aqua center and nightclub and is one of many four and five star properties offering health spa facilities.

Świnoujście in Uznam/Usedom (Poland)
The city of Świnoujście is located on the Island of Uznam/Usedom in Poland. The city is located mainly on Uznam/Usedom, however important connections with Poland and other countries on the Baltic Sea are located on the Island of Wolin, there is a free city ship (every twenty minutes) for the locals and tourists which want to travel across the Świna River from Uznam/Usedom to Wolin and vice versa. The Island of Wolin part of Świnoujście contains a major road network to mainland Poland (by the S3 Expressway), the PKP Railway Station and the main part of the Seaport which has regular ships departing and arriving from countries like Sweden and Denmark, including Bornholm (Denmark).
Polish Coast ,Baltic Sea
Polish Coast is about 700km. It starts in Swinoujscie (West) and ends in Krynica Morska (East). There are many places to be visited in a summer time. There wild beaches and crowded beaches where disco music is played all night long. Everyone can find something interesting. In a winter time it is better to visit big cities as Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot or Kolobrzeg, Szczecin. These places I mentioned are crowded all year long. Gdansk and Sopot are the best in the East Coast if you want to have fun, Sopot is even better. Kolobrzeg (West Coast) is also great. At a German border there 2 towns that are great as well, i.e. Swinoujscie and Miedzyzdroje. Both are on the islands, i.e. Uznam and Wolin. Wolin is known from old Viking times, on this island there was Viking's port called Jomsborg. Of course you willnot see any Vikings anymore, but you can have fun seeing some rebuilt viking drakkars, some modern Vikings, etc. Middle East Coast. There is a nice town Leba where you can see the biggest dunes in Europe. Pharaoh movie was shot there, so dunes are all right.
So there are plenty of space for tourists. Poland has beautiful beaches with very fine, soft sand. Amazing, Polish sand is beter than Californian one. You gotta believe me. Besides we have ambers. Where else can you find ambers on the beach? Ancient Romans travelled to Poaland just to purchase ambers. Pubs, taverns, discos are across the whole Polish Coast. There are beaches with plenty of tourists and there are almost wild ones. You can eat really fresh fish there. Restaurants purchase them directly from fishermen. Anybody is to be satisfied. You willnot regret your holidays on the Polish Coast.

__________
The northern part of the Baltic Sea is known as the Gulf of Bothnia, of which the northernmost part is the Bay of Bothnia or Bothnian Bay. The more rounded southern basin of the gulf is called Bothnian Sea and immediately to the south of it lies the Sea of Åland. The Gulf of Finland connects the Baltic Sea with Saint Petersburg. The Gulf of Riga lies between the Latvian capital city of Riga and the Estonian island of Saaremaa. The Northern Baltic Sea lies between the Stockholm area, southwestern Finland and Estonia. The Western and Eastern Gotland Basins form the major parts of the Central Baltic Sea or Baltic proper. The Bornholm Basin is the area east of Bornholm, and the shallower Arkona Basin extends from Bornholm to the Danish isles of Falster and Zealand.
In the south, the Bay of Gdańsk lies east of the Hel Peninsula on the Polish coast and west of the Sambia Peninsula in Kaliningrad Oblast. The Bay of Pomerania lies north of the islands of Usedom and Wolin, east of Rügen. Between Falster and the German coast lie the Bay of Mecklenburg and Bay of Lübeck. The westernmost part of the Baltic Sea is the Bay of Kiel. The three Danish straits, the Great Belt, the Little Belt and The Sound (Öresund/Øresund), connect the Baltic Sea with the Kattegat and Skagerrak strait in the North Sea.
