WSDO - Women's Skills Development Organization
Women’s Skills Development Organization (WSDO) is a non-profit Fair Trade organization that has been working since 1975 to empower women who face difficult and significant social and economic hardships—being differently abled, abused, widowed, divorced, single, orphaned or of marginalized castes.
As a Fair Trade organization, WSDO ensures fair wages and production processes that minimize environmental impacts by using local and raw materials along with eco-friendly dyes.

Youth project: Empowering women workers in Nepal | from Ipas
Ipas worked with youth-led organizations in Nepal to provide women factory workers in the Kathmandu Valley with information on reproductive health and rights—and support accessing health services, including safe abortion. With the knowledge and skills they gained in our classes, women workers can now better manage their own health and relationships.

Womens Skills Development Project, Pokhara was established in 1975 as a non-profit and non-government organization. It is specialized in cotton back strap weaving, chemical and natural dying which is the traditional skill of the local women of Pokhara.
WSDPP provides handicraft skills trainings to underprivileged Nepalese women in the following disciplines; dying, weaving, material cutting, sewing, business management and various other skills related to handicraft production.

Having worked through women to develop sustainable communities Heifer believes that such cooperatives will be a foundation on which the country will build its future.
