God's window+Three Rondavels+Wonderview - Panorama Route
With magnificent views, canyons, rock formations and waterfalls, God's Window is truly an area of breathtaking scenic splendour. It is no wonder that Mpumalanga is known as Paradise Country.
Gods Window is so called for the panoramic view of the Lowveld more than 900 m down into lush indigenous forest clad ravine. The majestic cliffs plunge over 700 meters to the Lowveld and the private game reserves which have made the area one of South Africa's main wildlife destinations. God's Window is a small part of a 250km long earthwork of sheer cliffs and extravagant beauty. One can observe the hills and forests as far as the eye can see. In fact, it seems as if one can see forever!
Exactly as they sound, the Three Rondavels are three round mountain tops with slightly pointed tops, very similar to the traditional round or oval African homesteads made with local materials called rondavels. They are sometimes also called the Three Sisters (although this confuses them with a similar threesome visible from the N1 in the Free State lower down in the country).
Wonder View is the highest viewpoint on the Panorama Route and offers a 180 degree view over the Lowveld. The drop down to the Lowveld from the Panorama Route is approximately 900 m. On a clear day it is possible to see the Kruger National Park and the Lebombo mountain range in the distance.

GEOLOGICAL WONDER | Bourke's Luck Potholes, Sabie, Mpumalanga, South Africa Tourism
Bourke's Luck Potholes, were named after prospector Tom Bourke who discovered alluvial gold in the area during the late 1880's.Bourke's Luck Potholes is a magnificent natural attraction located along the Panorama Route, approximately 35 km north of the town of Graskop in Mpumalanga, and approximately a 20 minute drive from God's Window. This natural water feature marks the beginning of the Blyde River Canyon, the greenest and third largest canyon in the world, and has been formed by years and years of swirling whirlpools eroding holes into the bedrock of the Treur River.
Located approximately 35 km north of the town of Graskop, the site has grown in popularity as one of the province's best tourist destinations. The potholes which lie at the confluence of the Treur and Blyde rivers, were formed millions of years ago by the swirling of sand and pebbles, which resulted in the carving of the potholes into the underlying riverbed. Bourke's Luck Potholes also feature an interesting and informative visitors centre, which sheds light on the natural history of the region, as well as providing an introduction to the early inhabitants of the region, the San

GEOLOGICAL WONDER - TSWAING METEORITE CRATER | Pretoria, South Africa Tourism
Located about 40 km northwest of Pretoria, Tswaing is a 1946 hectare conservation area that is home to a meteorite impact crater and surrounding wetland, as well as the remains of an old salt factory. Tswaing, which means “place of salt” in Setswana, is the site where a meteorite half a football field in size slammed into the Earth 220 000 years ago, forming a crater 1.4 km in diameter and 200m deep. This crater, formerly known as the Pretoria Saltpan (or Soutpan), is one of about 170 impact craters in the world and one of four known impact craters in South Africa. It's one of the invariable tourist attractions in South Africa.
The Tswaing Crater is surrounded by dense bush. Tswaing Lake, is 100m in diameter in the centre of the crater, and is filled by rainwater and a spring. The lake once contained high concentrations of salt and soda ash that were mined for 44 years until 1956. The remains of the factory still stand near the lake.Just east of the crater is the Soutpanspruit, which feeds a rare wetland system that is home to game, a large number of bird species, smaller mammals such as otters, genets, brown hyenas, civets and steenbok, reptiles and frogs.
If you're looking for an unusual and interesting experience, then Tswaing Crater marks a definite 'X' on the Gauteng map. Visitors to the crater can follow the 7.2 km Tswaing Crater Trail, one of three trails that lead to and from the crater rim. Different places of interest are well marked along the trail. Note that it can get extremely hot here during the summer, so if you plan to follow the trail take along plenty of water with you.

Flying at Potluck Boskombuis (Graskop)
A fortunate discovery of Potluck Boskombuis on the Graskop-Potholes road (R536) led to good food at the outdoor restaurant on the Treurrivier. Lovely FPV flying in very scenic surroundings.
Mpumalanga falls, South africa
Mpumalanga falls, South africa is our short movie describing all the waterfall of this region in south africa

Boskombuis, Sabie, Mpumalanga, South Africa
From a review on Trip Advisor
Between God's Window and Bourke's Luck Potholes (which are in the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve), a little nook of splendor rests hidden in the valley. Driving on R532, keep your eyes open for a driveway on the right side of the road. There will be signs that say REAL SOUTH AFRICAN FOOD on either side of the drive. They're only open for lunch, and not on Mondays, so plan accordingly

Sabie - The Panorama Route
A short video of the spectacularly beautiful Panorama Route in Mpumalanga, South Africa. It include places like Blyde River Canyon with the Three Rondavels, Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window, Wonderview, Echo Caves, Museum of Man and quite a few waterfalls. I also created a short timelapse with startrails and another of the full moon at Merry Pebbles where we camped. Enjoy! :)
Waterfalls in Sabie after many days of rain in South Africa's Mpumalanga lowveld
The Sabie Waterfalls Route in Mpumalanga is amongst South Africa's best-kept secrets: visitors are often so captivated by the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, with its magnificent cliffs and stunning views, not to mention dazzling flora and fauna, that this superb cluster of waterfalls is often overlooked.
There are more waterfalls here than anywhere else in southern Africa, and you'll be astonished by their beauty and diversity. Forget the Big Five and that magnificent canyon for a while, set aside a day or two, and take yourself on a waterfalls tour.
Start in Sabie and head north on the R532 towards the clearly signposted Horseshoe, Lone Creek and Bridal Veil Falls.
As the name suggests, the Horseshoe Falls creates an almost perfect horseshoe as it cascades down the mountainside. It's an easy walk through a campsite to get a superb view.
A short drive away is the evocatively named Lone Creek Falls, which tumble down almost 70m into lush ferns and forest.
You'll understand why the Bridal Veil Falls, again just a brief drive away, are so-named when you see the delicate tracery of water and spray that wafts like a veil from the high cliffs.
For more Sabie waterfalls, go further north on the R532 and head for the gorgeous Mac Mac Falls, named for the Scottish miners who sought their fortune here during the 1870s gold rush.
Next stop is South Africa's highest waterfall – The Lisbon Falls, named by Portuguese miners who panned for gold here. These falls crash down 90m into the gorge below.
Finally, it's off to the Berlin Falls, shaped like a huge white candle, which flows through a natural sluice before dropping 80m into a deep pool below. Then enjoy your packed lunch in the green shade of a lovely picnic spot.
The lowveld town Sabie boasts a number of spactacular waterfalls in South Africa and the waterfalls are breathtaking at the moment due high rainfall during the last few days. Cyclone dineo definitely had a hand in delivering some of the rain.
