Los Hijos de Tuta at 2018 Latin Carnival in Toronto's Woodbine Park
The Sons of Tuta (Los Hijos de Tuta) is headed by one of Toronto's pioneers in the Latin music scene, musical director and multi-percussionist, Wilson Acevedo. The group performed on Sunday at the Latin Carnival in Toronto's Woodbine Park.
In five years, Los Hijos de Tuta has established itself as a much loved tropical band in Canada. Acevedo attributes the band’s popularity to the upbeat, infectious nature of Caribbean parranda music – known in Colombia for getting people up and dancing at parties and celebrations! The music of Colombia is an expression of Colombian culture, which contains diverse music genres, both traditional and modern, according with the features of each geographic region, although it is not uncommon to find different musical styles in the same region. The diversity in musical expressions found in Colombia can be seen as the result of a mixture of African, native Indigenous, and European (especially Spanish) influences, as well as more modern American, Caribbean, Cuban, and Jamaican musical forms. Colombia is known as The land of a thousand rhythms' but actually holds 1,025 folk rhythms. Some of the best known genres are cumbia Parranda vallenato. The most recognized interpreters of traditional Caribbean and Afro-Colombian music are Totó la Momposina and Francisco Zumaqué.

Welcome To Casino Woodbine!
Welcome To Casino Woodbine Out In Toronto, Ontario Canada!
This was our Very First (1st) Time Visiting Toronto's Only Local Casino.
The reason of Why we went out there was because we both won $10.00 Dollar Coupons to use at the Slot Machines located at the Casino Woodbine which we got from the Taste Of Manila Festival.
This was a Perfect Opportunity for us to visit the Casino.
When we got there we had to fill out an application in order to use the $10.00 Coupon and we both got an additional bonus of $5.00 Dollars Extra To Use and so we ended up having $15.00 Dollars to gamble with.
Sadly, we were Not Very Successful at Winning!
I ended up going from $15.00 down to .35 cents and Joseph went from $15.00 down to about $13.00 Dollars and some change.
I am just so glad that it was Not Our Very Own Money that we were playing with.
I personally am Not A Gambler, but Yes, it was an Experience to see Just How Far Our Money Can Last On Their Slot Machines.
Please Note: I want to also point out that they are in the process of making their casino much, much bigger by adding some kind of a hotel along with a 5,000 Seat Theatre for Bands, Comedians, etc.
Sounds Good To Me!
I want to personally Thank the Taste Of Manila Festival for giving us the $10.00 Dollar Money Coupons that we Graciously Used Up as soon as we got to the Casino!
I want to personally Thank Joseph for going with ME and helping make my Youtube Video!

Mall Tour - Woodbine Shopping Center and Fantasy Fair - Toronto, ON
Hey everyone! Welcome to my first mall/mall-related video in over a year... In this video, I take you on a walk-through of the Woodbine Shopping Center, located in the Rexdale area of Toronto, Ontario. This is the first shopping center from outside of Newfoundland featured on my channel.
I filmed this last summer on vacation in Toronto and have been seriously overthinking how I was going to produce this video. I originally wanted to put in some narration, but I absolutely cannot stand the sound of my voice so I decided not to. So in this video you’ll essentially get to hear the natural sounds of the mall.
Here's a little background on the mall. There isn't a whole lot of information on the entire history of this mall. The mall was constructed in 1985 by the Cadillac Fairview Group. It has changed hands a couple times over the years and is currently run by Woodbine Mall Holdings. The 750000sq.ft mall has around 130 stores and was originally anchored by Sears, Zellers (and then Target), and a Hudson Bay Company store (still there). As you know, both Sears and Zellers/Target Canada went out of business. So a furniture store called All Home Furnishings occupies the upper level of Sears and a discount store called Shop-A-Lot occupies the ex-Zellers/Target space. Two low-end off-kilter branded stores, which is a reoccuring theme in this mall.
The mall features a movie theatre and Fantasy Fair, which is an indoor amusement park that features an assortment of kiddy rides including a vintage 1911 Looff Carousel and a 50-foot indoor Ferris Wheel. There is also an indoor train ride that goes through the mall and takes kids to the Fantasy Fair. It’s actually pretty neat.
Here are my thoughts on this mall. I wouldn't say this is a dead mall yet, but I feel like it is headed in that direction. There was a rumor back in 2008 stating that the mall was slated to close and be redeveloped into a big multi-entertainment complex, causing a few major retailers to back out of the mall. Two of the major anchor tenants have vanished, leaving behind two low-end anchor tenants that no one cares about. There are a lot of empty storefronts now, and most of the remaining tenants are low-end off-kilter branded stores. The Fantasy Fair thing is neat, but I don’t think it will be enough to keep this mall alive. The current owner of this mall apparently owes half a million in taxes. Recently, they got fined for not paying staff on time. There was also a shooting or open gunfire in the parking lot a few months ago as well. The mall isn’t in the greatest part of town. It’s a little too far out of the way for some Torontontians where there are bigger and better malls close by such as the Square One mall in Mississauga, the Eaton Center downtown, the CF Sherway Gardens Mall also in Etobicoke, and of course, the posh, high-end Yorkdale Mall in the Markham area. I feel like a lot of Torontonians have since forgotten about this mall. The Lyft driver who took me here said how he used to go to this mall back in the 1990s when he was a kid and felt very nostalgic pulling into the parking lot.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this video! Maybe it brought back some memories for some Toronto locals. Until next time.
