Abandoned Cemetery in the Woods Near Dayton, Ohio | Early 1800s Graves
Thanks to a tip from one of our subscribers we had the opportunity to explore an abandoned cemetery in the woods outside of Dayton, Ohio. The cemetery is bordered by farm field on 3 sides and a creek on the 4th. The creek runs down a 10 foot deep ravine with no bridge to cross. We found records that the cemetery has been surveyed just a few times over the years as it is not open to the public. The oldest grave of a 4 year old girl that died in 1817. A log church is believed to have once resided on the property but no remnants are left. It has been abandoned and unkept for much of its life. For a couple years here and there someone is allowed to clean it up only for it to fall back into disrepair. Many of the headstones have been knocked over and broken by falling trees.

Exploring a Lost Ohio Cemetery recently uncovered
We found a once forgotten abandoned cemetery. No longer overgrown but what is its story.
While doing some urbex location scouting I stumbled upon an old cemetery in Greene County, OH. At the corner of W. Hyde Road and W. Enon Road. In the corner of a cornfield. Many headstones are from the mid-1800s. Several are partially covered by dirt, broken, laying down, and moved from their original placement. You can see where it used to have many more trees and this leads me to believe that it was cleaned up in the last few years. If you know more details about this cemetery. Comment below.
