New Jersey Wine Industry Gets Rutgers Education

At The Vineyard Show Plagido's Winery - Episode 4 #Plagidos
Plagido’s Winery, located in Hammonton, NJ will be celebrating its 10th anniversary on August 1, 2017. Plagido’s Winery earned Winery of the Year honors for the second consecutive year in the annual New Jersey Wine Competition, which is organized for the Garden State Wine Growers Association by Dr. Gary Pavlis of the Rutgers Cooperative Extension. The competition, which was held in May, featured wines from 21 New Jersey wineries.
In winning Winery of the Year, Plagido’s Winery scored eight overall medals including a gold medal for the non-vintage Blackberry Vigoroso; four silver medals their 2015 Cab Franc, 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, non-vintage Concetta’s Casalinga and 2015 Cour d’Est and three bronze medals for their non-vintage Chambourcin, 2015 Cab Franc/Merlot and non-vintage Niagara.
“What an honor it is to win this award two straight years,” said Ollie Tomasello. “This is certainly a validation of all the hard work and dedication by our family and staff to develop exceptional wine here at Plagido’s Winery that is enjoyed by our customers. Ollie Tomasello, owner and winemaker at Plagido’s Winery is a 4th generation farmer, continuing the tradition of offering the fruit of his family’s vineyard for your family’s table. All grapes used in Plagido wines are estate grown
and are fermented on the premise.

GSWGA Passport 2019
Bring your passport to each participating winery and have it stamped at each winery you visit. Once the book is completed, mail it back to the Garden State Wine Growers Association by May 20. The completed passports are entered into a drawing held on Memorial Day weekend at a winery and broadcast via Facebook Live, to win our fabulous Grand Prize, a trip for two to a renowned wine destination.
