The Worlds Biggest Paddle Parson BC
We didn't know where to park at the paddle once we found it. It's always an adventure
My #AEWorldTour Entry
I live in Golden, a town in southeastern British Columbia, Canada. Built around the confluence of the Columbia and Kicking Horse heritage rivers, Golden is located between the Canadian Rocky Mountains and Columbia Mountain ranges, and with close proximity to six of the most stunning national parks that Canada has to offer. There's much to do in the area all year round, but if you visit Golden, you should see the world's largest paddle! Based on an actual paddle, this proportionally correct monolith is scaled up 13 times to over 60 feet - perfect for a 78-foot giant!

Vancouver BC White Water Rafting - Thompson Paddle
Hyak River Rafting
The Thompson River combines powerful rapids with deep quiet canyons and the warm desert climate of B.C.'s interior.
Situated in one of the warmest climates in Canada, the Thompson is B.C.'s third largest river. The visually spectacular Black Canyon and the big, powerful rapids are features that only a river of this volume can produce. The Thompson is the ideal one or two day rafting adventure. Highlighted by the lower canyon with 27 exciting rapids, including the Jaw's of Death, Cutting Board and the Witch's Cauldron, the Thompson River is sure to awaken all your senses!
Come and raft with us!
Eri's Adventure - Stage 1 - Columbia River 2018 Canal Flats to Golden BC
In August of , 2018 John Kuntz, owner of Olympic Outdoor Center, paddled the entire length, 1250 miles of the Columbia river from source to sea in honor of Erica Reith (Eri), (a young person whom tragically lost her life at the age of 19) and in the name of teaching youth the art of adventure. In life we have a chance to pay it forward and that is my goal, to let youth know there is more to life than the world that they know. That it is OK to take risks safely to gain the reward of a life time. Eri was a beautiful person that loved the outdoors and helping others, In her honor I am dedicating this paddle so that others may follow, because LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE that we must teach our youth.
This video is the paddle from canal flats (beginning of the Columbia river) to Golden BC around 100 miles. This is one of the most diverse and beautiful sections of the river as it flows north through the rocky mountain trench, one of north Americas largest wetlands. Expect to see bear, elk, moose, deer, rocky mountain big horn sheep, and a diversity of other mammals and birds in this rich and mostly unspoiled environment.
The Last Descent - Full Length Documentary
Winner of the People's Choice Award - Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival 2009
Winner of the Activism through Adventure Award - Boulder Adventure Film Festival 2009
The World's rivers are being dammed now faster than ever. In response to this a group of whitewater paddlers set out on a one year adventure to document what could be the last descent. Nepal's Marsyangdi River, Uganda's White Nile River and India's Brahmaputra River are all in the process of being dammed or are threatened by large-scale hydroelectric projects. These rivers also happen to be home to native people living sustainably in their environment, the most ecologically diverse areas in the world, and gigantic whitewater.
Hetch Hetchy reservoir in Yosemite National Park served as an inspiration as the beginning of large-scale dam construction in California 70 years ago, and now the rallying cry for dam removal and restoration in The Golden State. I think right now developing countries can learn from the mistakes that we made and in return for us to learn from these people that have learned to live sustainably in their environment. Says Charlie Center in The Last Descent.
The adventure of travel and exploration, the story of native people fighting to survive and the exhilaration of whitewater kayaking are mingled together in this award winning film.

Exploring Murtle Lake - Paddling to the Wavy Crest Trail, Well Gray Park, BC
Towards the end of summer, we made a much anticipated 4 person expedition to Murtle Lake, BC, for a three day adventure. Murtle Lake is world-famous as the largest motor-free lake in North America. Set in a pristine mountain valley within Wells Gray Provincial Park, the north and west arms are approximately 20 km long, and the lake averages three kilometres wide.
Our goal involved not only exploring the lake by paddle, but using our complete second day to hike up into the alpine on the incredible Wavy Crest Trail. Thought by many to be one of the best alpine hikes in BC, the views blew us away and we ended up going all the way to the summit of Wavy Crest Peak. The approach to the alpine climbs vertically for over 1000 knee busting metres, but if you are up for the challenge, it’s completely worth it. It’s easily one of the best crowd-free wilderness experiences we’ve ever had.
More details on the route can be found at the excellent trail resource website “Kamloops Trails”
Music: “Iron Doors“ by The Lighthouse and the Whaler, “Light (instrumental)” by Odesza

let's connect :)
Tau Gamma Phi (ΤΓΦ), also known as the Triskelions' Grand Fraternity, is a fraternity established in the Philippines. Its members call themselves Triskelions. Their aims are to see a Fraternity System devoid of violence in lieu of the rampant violence pervading the university campus at the time of its founding, to avoid elitism if they can, and to earnestly propagate their fraternity's principles as their way of life. Based on these goals, the Triskelions categorized their formal group as a 'protest fraternity'. The Fraternity encourages its members to strive for spiritual growth and to organize socio-civic activities for the benefit of communities.[1] Tau Gamma Phi is now one of the largest international fraternities, with about 500,000 registered members worldwide.[2] Its counterpart is called Tau Gamma Sigma (ΤΓΣ) also known as the Triskelions' Grand Sorority.
The Triskelion Alumni Organization (TAO) is the umbrella organization for all its alumni associations worldwide. The TAO has established close-knit enclaves in the United States of America, Canada, the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

Humpback Whales in San Francisco
I just had to share this raw footage from yesterday's magical session. Definitely one of the highlights of my life on the water. After a fun filled weekend at the Rio Vista Grand Slam, the pros decided to do some SF sightseeing. So much for seeing all these pros throwing sick freestyle moves. I was planning to catch it all on film but then this happened and everybody became a spectator of mother nature's gifts. Wait for it! .....with Arrianne Anna Philip Soltysiak Jason Voss and a bunch of others.

Bucket Wheel Excavator (Bagger 293)
The Bagger 293 is a giant bucket-wheel excavator built in Germany in 1995. It requires a crew of five to operate and can move over 8.5 million cubic feet of earth per day. The Bagger 293 uses a large 70-foot rotating wheel at the end of a long arm. This wheel has a series of buckets attached, and as the wheel rotates the buckets pick up the earth and dump it onto a conveyor belt. The conveyor belts will transport the earth to other vehicles for removal to the dumping site.
